Absolutely made up with our new fire! Had the Flavel 5kW stove installed last week and couldn't be happier. the install was completed within 3 weeks of us recieving a quote. The team who did the install were lovely people. They kept the house clean (as much as possible when installing a new fire). We had a couple of snags as a result of a miscommunication but a quick phone call to Tony and were rectified within 2 days. Not everybody’s cup of tea , but my older brother suffers from raynards in is hands an wanted an old style fire that punched heat out an this is what they recommended . Gave us a 3 week fitting date but only waited a few days . The guys that came did a fantastic job from start to finish . Cleaned up after themselves . So very happy with my new electric fireplace suite. I wanted a suite to sit flat against the chimney breast wall. The fireplace was first delivered with a rebate which would mean chipping into my newly plastered wall. .. No problem though, the fitter rang through to the shop and it was quickly agreed to take it away to be modified. Just a short delay before it was returned and fitted correctly. The upgraded electric fire was fitted separately on another day. It is ultra modern with a remote control and the fitter took time to explain all the features on it. I am very happy with the service, there were no pushy sales people, everyone was friendly and helpful. Ian and Gary were patient while I made my choice and gave me time to change my mind. A week into our new stove and fireplace and we are absolutely delighted. From the day we walked in to the shop to the minute Tony Ashton finished the installation everything went smoothly. The shop staff were courteous, approachable and knowledgeable, making the process of choosing and buying a very comfortable customer experience. Tony, the fitter, took exceptional care to minimise disruption and mess; treating our home with respect to the extent that we didn't need to redecorate the chimney breast (bonus). Spectacular results at a fantastic price.
Outstanding service.
We were initially interested in Gazco fires, which were excellent, top quality goods, but we were after something really spectacular and were open to suggestion.

After ringing round lots of places and doing various research, we found many places to be highly disinterested and, frankly, hard work. We were looking to spend a lot of money and expected better service. Then we found the superb Ian. Ian replied in detail and with interest. He was informative and helpful, whilst never pushy. As attracted as I was to doing business with someone who finally displayed some excellent customer service, getting good value was paramount.

Based on my experience shopping around, I would very seriously recommend those living in Greater Manchester to steer clear of buying in Altrincham and Manchester. As hard as it is to swallow for United fans like myself, the value is in Liverpool or, as I was delighted to discover, Wigan.

We ultimately bought the Evonic E-1500GF-3 after discussing various options with Ian who took a good half an hour out of his day to talk to us and help us decide.

Whilst at the store, we also found some fantastic slate, which we thought could help create the spectacular feature we were looking for. So we added this to the discussion.

In terms of price, The Fireplace Wigan (TFW) were so far ahead of the Manchester, Stretford, Altrincham, etc etc shops I'd rang round that they scoffed at me disbelieving, laughed at my best quote as "unrealistic" and shook their heads at me as though I was wasting their time. Tbh though I found this absolutely reassuring! The only realistic competition on price was in Liverpool, but TFW also bettered their prices, had the fantastic slate option, and were incomparable on service from start to finish.

So there was only one winner.

Tony came out to confirm the details of the fitting. For once with a fitter, there was absolutely no change in the price, no hmms or haas as they try to escalate the fee at the last minute or create problems. Instead he spent the time finding out exactly what I wanted and how I wanted it, was service-oriented entirely and the price was never even re-discussed; it was just presented and confirmed.
The fire needed to be ordered in as it is made to order. I was communicated with and updated throughout this process, and the day after it was received, it was fitted. I couldn't ask for more.

The results? Wow! No, really: wow! They are putting the pictures on Facebook. Ours will be the slate above the Evonic E-1500-GF. So you can judge for yourself. It looked so good I actually shook their hand afterwards. My partner came home, dropped her work bags when she seen it and said "wow". We are delighted with the results.

Am so happy with my experience with The Fireplace. When I entered the shop I didnt have a clue what I wanted , what style of fireplace or even wether I wanted a gas or electric fire. However by the time I left I had purchased the perfect combination of fireplace and fire at a brilliant price. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Had a gas fire fitted from another business, they could not sort it and advised me to buy an electric fire, just wanted to wash their hands of it. When I approached the fireplace they were more than helpful, sending an engineer to access the situation which ended up being a flue problem, all sorted and the fire working great.
