We popped over just for one night, to check it out, was very nice and quiet. Will be going back when it's a bit warmer as it's a tad cold at the side of the gorgeous river.

We have always been made very welcome by the Maggie and family and the locals, lovely walks surrounded by nature are waiting plus an array of local ales and my favourite cider "Aspalls". Facilities are improving all the time and the only way is up for this little gem of a place. More...

Had a fantastic night here and visiting again in a couple of weeks. Nice warm welcome from everyone and equally nice real ales. You do have to cross a Ford though and this can be a little hair raising although we really had no problem. Some rocks did move with the river current but our hosts couldn't do enough and waded in and fixed the problem. Recommend The Crown but take enough wood for your campfire. More...

We have just spent 4 days enjoying the camping at this lovely rustic site on the banks of the river, the banks were covered in Blue Bells and the variety of Birds kept me entertained for hours, we spent a lazy Sunday Morning watching the bikes / cars etc descending the hill to take the narrow bridge it was as good as any motor show. The Crown it's self is a little gem, a free house with a very good cellar so my husband tells me, though I can vouch for the cider myself. So any one wanting a peaceful few days I would say give it a try you won't be sorry. More...
