A good night's stay although not the most comfortable of beds. Room was small but well appointed. Lovely breakfast.

Great location, bang in the centre of the city, great for tourists. The hotel, in parts, is a little dated. We stayed in the annex at the back of the hotel - the rooms were reasonably comfortable but there's a lot of noise from closing doors.

Beautiful old hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was marvelous. All the common places were very well done.
unfortunately not the same care has need given to the individual rooms. Chairs were dirty and threadbare as were curtains. The bed should have been replaced ages ago. I must say the bathroom was nice but once again some items were neglected. My impression is that they put their effort and money into events such as weddings and conferences.
With all that being said, we would stay again but maybe ask for a different room. It is in a great location right on the market square.

Don't expect quick food. This is the most delightful place to eat in comfort and relax from the hussle. Comfortable seating and good food make this a great lunch stop

A building the likes of which will never be built again. Decorated and furnished to a high standard throughout. Friendly staff in all departments. A good homely bar also. Parking at the rear of the hotel, is a major plus for a city centre hotel. The staff were all friendly, efficient and very helpful. The room was clean and fresh. Walk in shower always a bonus. The food here, both evening meal and the breakfast were top class. Didn’t take advantage of the swimming pool. Maybe next time. More...

Historic hotel. If not staying, you can still go in for a coffee or drink. Lunchtime meal. Often hold theme nights such as murder mystery.
Can set up beautifully for weddings, proms, graduations. Very near the cathedral. Good town centre location. Other restaurants close by. Friendly, professional staff.

Great location within easy reach of city centre and all its amenities. Swimming pool very small. Bar disappointing when beer ran out twice in the same evening and replacement on offer was not the best choice. Food in buffet and breakfast good. Free car parking in city centre is a bonus. Our bedroom was is the annexe as we booked late for the Christmas Dinner Dance. We were with another couple, their bedroom was much bigger than ours (our washbasin was next to the bed), full bathroom, but next to the lift shaft. It was extremely noisy and not the best room to be in. We thoroughly enjoyed our overnight stay, clean, although rooms were cold, and food excellent. The hotel is centrally situated and perfect for shopping etc. Will definitely stay again, but make an earlier booking for a better room. More...

Food great, rooms great, such a fabulous ballroom.
