The Affordable Wedding Shop

As my review got removed from google reviews - which I have no idea how. Here it is for those poor brides even thinking of buying with this company.

If I could give minus stars I would.

I ordered from this shop in early March 2023, I stated that my wedding was in early August. I requested a few alterations from the original design—adding volume, straps, and removable sleeves. However, the promised 12 weeks quickly turned into 16, causing mounting stress as my wedding approached. Each inquiry resulted in conflicting information, with the final delivery date being extended every time.

22 Weeks later when I finally picked up the dress—sleeves sewn in, missing straps, too big, too long (despite being custom made to my height), and a completely different embroidery pattern with flowers instead of Diamontes. None of the amends I had requested had been done, they had given me a complete different dress to what I had ordered! There was zero accountability from their part and the employee was being very dismissive and more worried about getting me to pay the remaining balance there and then which I refused.

The next day I came in again to try to speak to management. I was told that the manager was on holiday for the next two weeks as was their seamstress in result - they cannot fix the dress until then, leaving me 2 weeks before my wedding! Attempting to request a refund escalated into an embarrassing scene, with an employee named Gemma shouting at me on the shop floor. Her lack of compassion and social skills were evident.

In a last-ditch effort, I insisted on a signed agreement, stating the dress would be amended by a certain date, with a refund if not. The only glimmer of hope came from Jackie, a supportive figure in the shop, who assured me that the issues would be resolved. However I was made to sign a piece of paper to state I would pay the full remaining balance once the dress had been rectified, which I had no issues with as I was always going to pay for it. In a final effort, I secured a signed agreement for the dress amendment, despite the overall handling leaving me horrified.

Two anxiety-ridden weeks before my wedding, I returned to collect the dress. Luckily to my relieve they had managed to fix it, I paid in full, relieved that the dress finally aligned with my original vision. However the drama didn't end there. As the employees were showing me my dress I could clearly see that one of the employees was filming me in their personal mobile phone repeatedly asked me "are you happy with it?, are you happy with it?" - I had not even tried on the dress yet!! A complete invasion of privacy.

I share this detailed account as a cautionary tale for fellow brides-to-be. The stress and heartache endured during what should have been a joyful time are not worth the risk. Given the significant financial investment of £800—I expected a smoother, more respectful experience, which, unfortunately, was sorely lacking.

I share this to urge brides to carefully consider their options and seek a more reputable and reliable alternative for such an important purchase. Your wedding journey should be filled with joy, not unnecessary stress and disappointment. More...

Theses beautiful ladies did my sisters wedding dress and did an amazing job the dress was a size 12 and had to be taken in to a size 6 due to my sister being so tiny. The service then was so outstanding that when I finally got engaged I knew I had to come here, they go out of there way to help and I can not wait until I have my big day with my beautiful dress. Wonderful ladies! Brought my bridesmaid dresses from them and they altered them too - they looked stunning! Their shop is wonderful with a great selection and would thoroughly recommend!

Such a great selection - choose the style then the colour and they order in new. Alterations done in house and so reasonable too. Wish I'd known about this place sooner! More...

Stunning dresses at affordable prices! Staff are very friendly and helpful. They have such a wide selection of dresses. I definitely recommend!
