My son has been taking Krav Maga at Tampa Bay Krav Maga since June, and he loves it. I can see him developing skill, coordination, physical conditioning, self confidence and respect for others! It is definitely worth the time & money, and I drive from Tampa so that he can go to this school. I am taking the Women's 6 Week Survival Boot Camp and love it! I have been through 2 classes so far. It is definitely a challenge, but a rewarding one, and I already feel I have learned a lot, and am more aware and confident than I was before! I was a former student of traditional martial art styles for the better part of 40 years. When I came to Tampa Bay Krav Maga, it was very eye opening and awkward. I had to unlearn old habits. Krav Maga is a self defense system and is taught with the bodies natural skills and reactions. The main techniques are the same regardless of empty hand, stick attack, knife attack, etc. which makes them easy to learn across whatever your existing skill level is. I have learned tremendous amounts at this school and the instruction is top notch for both the Krav Maga and fitness classes. Signing up here was one of the best things I have done for myself in a long time. You get an excellent workout from a very professional staff that also incorporates self defense tactics that you will carry for the rest of your life. Joe and his instructors are very professional and will train you with defense moves that work in the real world. We started out with my 8 year old son taking classes, which has increased his self confidence 110%. He enjoys learning to protect himself. I love that the instructor, Joe, makes sure that the kids understand when to use theor skills and how to avoid confrontation, if possible. I have now taken a 6 weeks womens survival class that taught me so much and totally kicked my butt, I am enrolled in another in January. Now, my husband has started kick boxing classes and loves it. Despite it not being a long class, it is truly a workout and will really get your heart rate up. Michelle, the program director, and Joe are both wonderful and easy to work with. More...

Tampa Bay Krav Maga is the absolute best place to learn "real" Krav Maga that has completely kept the form and function in line with the creator of Krav Maga.
When you walk into the facility, you are treated like family. Joe, and Michelle are both friendly, down to earth, patient and kind.
Joe understands about applying different styles of teaching according to the way a person learns, which shows in the above the bar quality instruction. If you want to learn self defense, then Tampa Bay Krav Maga will not let you down.

My 8 year old and I both attend classes at TBKM. Aside from a great workout, we've gained many useful skills, as well as higher self-confidence and self-esteem.
I would recommend the Women's Self Defense Course to everyone- it may as well be called a life-saver course. While I will admit that it all seems rather intimidating at first, Joseph Battle is an absolutely amazing instructor that takes the necessary time to listen to his students (of every age), break down and demonstrate the moves tirelessly, and cater to each student's abilities and and skills. Michelle does an excellent job answering any and all questions we've had, as well.
We are both very happy with our training here- we now stand a little straighter, seem a little stronger, and feel a lot more prepared for whatever life has to throw at us.
