There is probably not much left to be said about Craig and his garage, but as I was only able to find it thanks to other people's reviews in Google and he always did an outstanding job, so I will do my bit. I was a customer of Craig for about 2 years first with a Vauxhall Vectra and then a Chevrolet Cruze, since I found his garage until I moved away this summer, and would still be a customer if I were there.Steins Garage is the best garage I have seen in Edinburgh by far. Craig is very friendly and highly knowledgeable with regard to cars. I took my old diesel car for service at start of the year, got a call back from Craig later during the day was told the car was in very bad condition and wasn't worth servicing/spending money. But good thing was Craig didn't charge me single penny for checking the car. Took my car to other garage who happily charged me over £120 for full service. 3 months down the line, car went for MOT and failed miserably. Exactly same issues Craig had highlighted before and eventually car went to scrappy. Wish I had listened to Craig advice on first instance.Highly recommended and most reliable garage in Edinburgh. I am really impressed with the customer service I have received from Steins Garage. I have taken two vehicles there on different occasions, both times Craig and his team were prompt, professional and friendly. The repairs/MOT/Service were done promptly, for a very fair price, and they kept me updated throughout. I use my car a lot for work and I’m really glad to have found a trustworthy garage who will help me keep my car running safely. Took my vw polo to a different garage and it failed its MOT. Garage quoted nearly £400 for the repairs which seemed high to me. Contacted Steins after the garage I use in Newcastle recommended them. Craig was fantastic; I dropped the car off that afternoon and it was ready by the next morning, and they only charged £210 for the same repairs and a new MOT test. As a women in her 20's, I get nervous changing garages but i've just recently moved to Edinburgh and now I wouldn't go to any other garage. I've had my car for 4 years and this is honestly the best service i've had. Car went in for service and MOT, Craig's dad was there to recieve it and Craig delt with the return, both with great customer service. The price was incredibly reasonable for what was wrong with my car PLUS they fixed everything so quickly that I got my car back after 3 hours and my car has never felt so good to drive! Have been using this garage in the past few years for my MOT, annual servicing and all sorts of repairs - my old car needs a lot of care! Craig and his team are very knowledgeable and professional, identifying the problems quickly and offering cost-effective solutions as needed. For the jobs they could't do, Craig explained the problem in details, and referred me to one of the garages he knew, even with an estimated price for the job, which is usually pretty accurate! Took my car to this garage to ask for a quote, as my car didn't pass the MOT. Took it before to other places and everyone answered they couldn't fix my car. Took my 2010 Audi in to Craig. Was rattling about at high speeds and was making a lot of clunking noises etc. Just wasn't a well car at all. Craig went out of his way to meet me at 6:30am (I don't know if he wants me to say that as I think he'd rather the lie in for future customers) because I start work at that time. Kept me well informed and didn't do un warrented work. My onboard computer was saying all my brake pads were needing replaced but Craig took a look, then just replaced the front ones. Explaining my back ones were fine and that it was just the computer that needing reset. He could of easy swindled me for that but didn't. Had the car in for two full days with the amount of work needing done to it and now I've got it back it's like night and day. I'll be taking it up with the garage I bought it from 5 months ago at the condition it was sold to me in.Very straight talking and easy to deal with, nice guy all round.
