Splash NI is a small independent swim school based in Northern Ireland. It is owned and managed by me, Jane Askin.
I am a swimming teacher with lots of experience in teaching babies and kids how to stay safe, be confident and build up swimming and survival skills which will last a lifetime!
Splash NI came about as the result of my decision to turn my passion into a business. I believe that everyone should know how to swim (or at least stay afloat) – these are skills which could save your life or someone else’s.
As a mum of two young daughters, I understand that every child is different and has different ways of learning so I ensure I adapt my lessons to fit the needs of the learner. I always ensure that lessons are lots of fun – kids learn best when they are enjoying themselves.
I am friendly and approachable and I engage with each swimmer in a way which makes them feel at ease – this is crucial to build rapport and trust and ensure swimmers get the most from each lesson.
And it’s not just kids we cater for. We offer private 1:1 and small group lessons for adults as well. Swimming is a great way to keep fit, relieve stress and is especially good for people with reduced mobility or health conditions which make regular exercise difficult. It’s never too late to learn…
I am a member of the STA (Swimming Teachers Association) and hold the following qualifications:
STA Award in Swimming Teaching
STA Certificate in Swimming Teaching
STA Baby and Pre-school Swimming Teaching Award
STA Award in Pool Safety
Safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults
