Ryan Eccleston Creative locationWigan, Greater Manchester

I’m a professional multi-disciplined designer from Wigan specialising in both digital and printed work. I can do anything from brochure and direct mail to web design and digital marketing campaigns. You'll see from my portfolio that design for travel is one of my specialities - this is due to working in the travel industry as an in-house designer for 7 years. During this time I've worked for some well-established travel brands particularly in cruise.

As I mentioned, I'm fully experienced in doing corporate projects such as direct mail publications, brochures, magazines and branding however, don't be put off by this though as I’m still capable of doing the ‘quirky’ fun style of work too!

I take a huge amount of pride in my work and will always strive to go the extra mile for my clients as I believe the finishing touches can really enhance the overall experience! I'm a very professional and reliable designer offering a personal service where I really get to know my clients and there needs.

I'm always available for freelance projects so feel free to give me a call or I'd be happy to meet up for a coffee and a chat if you're local...
You can contact me on 07500926425 or drop me a message on WhatsApp and I'll get back to you shortly.

Ryan Eccleston Creative Q&A

What makes a great website?

A great website is a simple website that allows easy functionality for the user. All sites in this day and age should be responsive across all different types of devices whether that be computer, tablet or phone the site should always deliver the same quality of user experience across all devices. From a design perspective my personal preference is a site that utilises white space to give it a very clean and premium feel with a minimal colour palette.

What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?

Do you have any ideas in mind already? Colour palettes? Fonts? Styles? If so I always ask to send over screenshots or images of anything that will give me a feel for what the client wants.

What information do you need from a client before you start work?

This depends on the project...
Brochure or magazine - I need a full pagination with all content. I can either design based on your content or alternatively come up with some layouts and spreads and give my client the word counts for the spreads based on the design. As well as this id also need any images that need to be used or I can source these myself however this may sometimes impact cost.
Branding - If you have something in mind already I'd need screenshots, an idea of colour palettes, fonts. This isn't essential though! I'm completely capable of taking care of this.
Web design - I prefer to have a good chat on the phone or meet in person to consider all options and variables as there can be so many depending on the size of the site or what type of site it is whether that be e commerce or a simple front end to represent your brand.

What sorts of printing projects do you usually cater for?

I can cater for all printing projects. To name a few... Magazines, Brochures, Direct Mail, Business Stationary... Just check out my portfolio :)

What do you love most about your job?

I love working on something new every day as it keeps me on my toes and keeps my creativity high. Another thing would be building long-term relationships with my clients. It's nice to be nice and that's what keeps my clients coming back!

What inspired you to start your own business?

From a young age I knew I wanted to be a designer and in the long term set up my own agency. After taking my first Graphic Design lesson in school I began planning how I could turn this into a career. I studied design at college then onto degree level at University and shortly after this landed my first job as a designer. I worked as an in-house designer for several companies but my creativity was limited with me having to stick to business brand guidelines day in day out and I felt as though I was being held back. This was when I knew that setting up my own business was the next step in my career as I would be able to take on the projects that I wanted to do not what I was being told to do and I've never looked back since! I work the hours I want and also the hours my clients need me to whether that sometimes be weekends or evenings.

Why should our clients choose you?

I have over 10 years experience in design and studied my degree in Graphic Design at Salford University, The School of Art & Design. I'm a very diverse designer and can tackle any type of project, big or small, digital or print. I will always strive to go the extra mile meeting expectations and always hitting deadlines. I want to build long-term relationships with my clients and not just do one-off jobs! All this aside, I'm an all-round nice guy and I'm a very easy to talk to, why not see for yourself and give me a call? :)
