Great fun. Children loved the walk and park
Great day out and great cafe
Lovely experience for our friends wedding.
Brilliant day ❣️
Great day out
We really like Rufford.. Lovely walk around and far cheaper to park than Clumber Park
Great outdoor space with castle ruins, lake gardens and forest. Plenty to do with family of all ages. Wheelchair and scooter friendly.
The part of Rufford Abbey that hosts weddings and events and such. I've only visited in passing as we walked by the lake but it's a great spot to stop for a drink and a beautiful ice cream in the great little courtyard. The kids will even be amused by cars driving through the ford on the road that passes by. ( no I don't know why either) Well worth stopping by when already at Rufford Abbey. More...
Whole place is peaceful lovely walk with kids
Lovely place to take grandchildren
A family favourite
Beautiful, quiet walk lovely day out for picnics or to eat in
Lovely walk with my daughter seen ducks all different kinds of birds squirrels then went to the park beautiful
A beautiful country park great kids play are and plenty of parking at a fair price
Fabulous place to visit x
A great park to visit, this end of the park has a nice café / coffee shop with indoor & outdoor seating, there is a car ford with a viewing area for kids to watch the cars splash through, just around the corner is the lake with ice cream shop & walkways & area to feed the ducks & swans , there is also paths to the other end of Rufford park, parking here is only £3.50 for the day
Pleasant surroundings and walks, historic architecture, reasonable price of just £4 per car then free entry to the grounds
We love Rufford. Always plenty to do and things to see. But not to large that you cant see and do it all within a day. It's a very tidy place and the people that look after grounds do a fantastic job. Its recently had a make over in the children's play area. Fantastic range of play equipment that caters for all ages. My 3 year old loves it. We can spend hours there. They've put a little coffee shop down by the play area to that's open in busy periods and at weekends. All it needs now is a toilet there and it will be complete...having said that it's only a few minutes to walk to the main building where there are plenty of toilet facilities. The baby change is in the main toilet area but they have a changing spaces facility available for those who need it. Here is the main reception and information point as well as the gift shop, an outdoor clothing shop, an ice cream parlor and the largest of the 3 coffee shops / cafes at the park. Plenty of seating inside and out in a little courtyard it's a nice place to sit and rest for a while. Savills restaurant is based in the main complex to but I've never been inside. There are plenty or walks around the park all well sign posted. You can wander round the gardens with statues, mazes, and herb gardens to see and have a go at crazy golf, or around the abbey ruins in the main lawn, or if you fancy a slightly longer walk you can wander through the wooded area or follow the path around the lake and feed the ducks swans and geese (mostly friendly) or spot the various birds and other wildlife in the park. Both paths lead to the Mill. They have the 3rd cafe down here again with outdoor seating in a courtyard, and smaller toilets with disabled and baby change facilities. There is also a place to stand and watch cars going through the Ford. A great source of entertainment for the little people. There is another carpark down at this end of the park as well as the main one on the A614 (parking is £4 and reducedin the winter months)There are a few other things to do in the park that we haven't tried yet such as the boat hire and archery as they haven't been open when weve visited so cant comment on those. But the people that run it regularly put on things of interest for the children. Usually in the form if a treasure hunt around the park. So far weve done the Halloween hunt, the fairy hunt and most recently the spring one.Its a wonderful place to spend a few hours and we go there regularly. More...
The whole place is lovely - the abbey, mill and country park. Lots of space even though it gets busy. We always seem to find a part we haven't found before. Definitely one of our favourite places More...

The Mill is a nice place to visit and have something to eat, if you walk from the main entrance and go Via the lake there is lots to see
A wonderfull area for walking with interesting ruined Abbey and excellent cafe
Love Rufford park but queued for 15 minutes to get in, they should have used the over spill car park, didn't spoil the day though.

Quick service, good prices, decent quality
It is of course compulsory to drive fast through the ford to create a wall of water for all the kids to cheer at, usually congregated at the road side! Don't go too slow or you will be boo-ed! More...
Great facilities and very friendly staff.
Only went in toilets but they were good toilets
Had a nice walk here. Busy though.

Lovely place to take children.and any dogs for a refreshing outdoor walk. Stroll/amble at your leisure, lots of benchrs and seats throughout all the park where you can rest, catch your breath or just to sit and soak in the lovely outdoor atmosphere.Highly recommended. Parking fees are charged in peak times but it is still well worth this expense. Looking forward to going again soon. More...
Great day out
Love this place
Great afternoon out with the family walks around the grounds lovely cafe facility & they have modernised the park for the kids overall a good experiance
Always a nice walk
Good for families with kids as good play area.
Beautiful venue. Great staff.
Friendly staff, good drinks and snacks.
This is definitely a good wedding venue for the summer and has lots to offer in the way of fresh air! Mobile phones don't get good reception so I'd hazard a guess that the lack of microwaves surrounding you will benefit your health!
Basic Cafe, boating, Ford, woodland and lakeside walking
Walked around the lake and enjoyed getting to the mill where we watched the cars go through the ford from a viewing area. Beautiful setting.
Parking expensive (inc. disabled). Parking is £3.50 but if you spend over £20 you have the fee refunded. Food is good, spending £20 will not be a problem! Lovely open space, refreshments available after a lovely walk. Small souvenir shop - toilets available free of charge. More...

Great places to let the kids run round and burn off some energy, esp since they've done up the play area.
Love coming here
A delightful venue. Well presented. Good parking. Very reasonable prices.
What a lovely little gift shop they have here, my friend and I found some very different things for presents and we were amazed at how reasonable the prices were.
Great country park. Plenty of good walks...a lake to walk round or go rowing on...rowing boats and pedalos. Two good restaurants and 1 or 2 smaller places to eat. They have built a new play area for the kids...and the remains of the abbey to look round. Occasionally they have a free open air cinema...Parking costs £3 50... All day... More...

Lovely day out at Rufford Country Park. Loved feeding the ducks and wandering around the gardens, even on a miserable day!

Lovely walk....well looked after
Great place for a day out. £3 to park all day and free to walk around the lake, through the woods and gardens and the ruin of Rufford Abbey. The best thing for the kids is the water splash ( ford ) watching the cars go through they loved it, there is plenty to do at rufford park picnic area plenty of open space for the kids to run around kick a ball ect also dog friendly..there is also a café restaurant a play area, I grew up around there as a kid and spent many a day there through out the summer holidays it has changed a bit but in my opinion for the better, all in all a great day out for the family . Nice place. Just a shame that it is a public attraction too and split over two levels (there is a lift but it's slow and can't take much weight).
Lovely for a walk around with the children

This is one of my favourite parks. It is beautifully kept and a great place to spend a day
This is fabulous walk around a lake. Possibly the best I've ever been too. Loads of wild life. So well looked after. Beautiful!!
Good prices. Lots of variety of food and drinks. Friendly staff.
Enjoyable treasure hunt
Great place for the family to visit
Beautiful countryside location and a great cafe!
Used for a conference at work. Nice venue but very squeaky floor which made it difficult for the speakers.
Had a lovely walk round in glorious sun shine. Kids had fun getting wet near the Ford.
As a wedding venue at the mill...Brilliant for a medium size wedding, lovely room for the occasion especially if combined with down stairs bar. Staff were extremely helpful and professional especially on the big day. Food was very good based from the parks restaurant. Ok, public are around during the day but was absolutely no issue having interested spectators for bride and photos. Very picturesque for bride and groom photos at the old Abbey and grounds generally. We had our wedding here on 26/07/18 and wasn't disappointed. Michelle and Joanne are wonderful, bubbly women that turned our dream day into a fairy-tale. They couldn't do enough for us and worked so hard. The food was amazing, every guest commented on how nice the food was and how well the venue was decorated. If you are looking for a venue, this has to be your place. You even get to take your pictures at the rufford castle. The decorations and entertainment supplies were provided by bliss which is another company that work closely with the rufford team. We highly recommend these too as they were fabulous at entertaining our guests with the Magic Mirror, Candly floss machine and popcorn machine. They also provided the table covers, sashes, chair covers and starlight backdrop.Just in case your wedding day is 28+ degrees like ours was, there's nothing to worry about as this venue has has air conditioning and it really was a lifesaver.Thank you Rufford team for making our day so special and thank you Bliss for doing a great job at entertaining our guests.Love Gemma & Ryan More...
Really enjoyed the visit
Beautiful estate and country park. Plenty of walks to keep you occupied and a lovely coffee shop. There are also a number of other shops for you to peruse around on the Stables.
Great place to spend a day, pleasant walks through the forest, around the lake, taking in the wildlife. The eatery's are good, choose from a breakfast, snack or carvery, can be a little expensive, or enjoy a picnic on the grounds.
A bit pricey but we enjoy it

Beautiful scenery. A lovely place for families.
Great walks and if using wheelchair go anti clockwise around lake. Slopes don't seem as steep. Just one area to watch. Flatter if you just go to between mill and Abby on main pathway.

Nice to walk around the lake and feed the ducks
Worth a trip just for the water splash, kids love it !
Lovely walks and a park for the kids.
It's a very nice venue and seems very popular with weddings throughout the year. They have recently expanded the settings as they have closed down the shop which was downstairs. It's a beautiful building and location which should make your wedding photos look fantastic. You get exclusive use of the rooms however the park is open to guests although from what I see as I visit weekly people are very polite when it comes to staying out of the way and giving the couple and family the space and courtesy they need. Generally seems to work very well. More...
Enjoyed a steady walk around Rufford Abbey with daughters and grandchildren on the fairy trail.Well organised, shame about the weather, prize at the end. Will be back for the Easter trail.
Rufford Park is a lovely place to visit. The Abbey is beautiful and there's a café and either end of the lake, so no excuses. Also great for the kids, watching the cars drive through the ford, especially if it's rained recently. Defn worth visiting. Waterfowl fans will love it too. More...
Nice place to visit great walks through the woods and around the lake, a very busy place though, the 1 thing i would like to change is as a dog owner they have to be kept on the lead , there are signs everywhere warning of fines if you let your dog off the lead.
I understand its a country park witch is home to an array of different wild life, but it is a big place surly there could be a field a meadow set aside were you can let your dog off for a run i no other places do this. Other than that a nice day out with plenty of facilities shops cafes a restaurant with a bar. For the cost £3 to park it is worth a visit even witb your dog. More...

Lovely place with loads to do for people of all ages. Great predict your future maze, ducks to feed, play area, beautiful walks and a statue garden. I was there for hours and didn't get to do everything. My favourite part was the bridge where you could see cars splashing through water. The locals cheered when the cars went fast and booed when they went slow. See photos. More...

Love going here. feed the ducks, have an ice cream, enjoy the beautiful grounds
We parked the mill side instead of the main car park at Rufford. The parking attendant was friendly and helpful. The Mill shop is great and the courtyards little coffee shop is ideal to have a drink or snack before you walk round the lake and grounds. Toilets available here too.
