Had afternoon tea with Groupon voucher 3:30 pm.Staff were brilliant .The cakes we lovely and fresh staff checked the.at least three times to see if all was ok we had a pot of coffee when we went in and they also offered us another pot of coffee which we declined only because we had ordered procceco with our Groupon. We were completely unrushed had a lovely sea view and the hotel is a step back in time . The staircase was something else all made of marble.highly recommend. More...

We ten ladies had a very nice time in the restaurant there. We were looked after by to very professional and attentive employees. We had a drink in the bar before lunch and then were shown to our table. Beautifully laid with Christmas extras - crackers and a nice gesture of a bag of sweets each. We had pre-ordered our preferences from the menu so there was no mix-up and all were served together. The general opinion was that all the courses were good, especially the desserts. We were served complimentary coffee afterwards when we complained that it wasn't very warm in the restaurant, so all in all well done. The only criticism was the lack of handrails on the stairs. But such a beautiful place so there may be a reason for that - listed building maybe. More...

Old furnished hotel. Friendly staff. Clean. Great views over sea. Didn't sample food so cannot voice an opinion. An outside smoking area with a seat would be good for those that need. All in all an okay place.

Nice old stile elegant British hotel in Hastings overlooking the Channel. The building is old ,quite well kept with old fashion style and furniture. The rooms are too poorly heated haven't very talk roofs and high volumes. With cold weather it's not comfortable. The personnel is kind and supportive. More...

My wife and I were impressed by this magnificent 19th-century hotel. It is lavishly but tastefully decorated inside and outside. We stayed in a spacious suite for a reasonable price (£91 for one night) and we enjoyed drinks at the bar and a good English breakfast in the morning. Central Hastings wasn't far away. However, I didn't like the shower, which poured down on my head like a waterfall. Although we checked in on November 30th, I had not expected to be kept awake by a noisy Christmas party with loud music blasting out until midnight. If you are coming here, avoid the Christmas season! More...

Really enjoyed our stay- our third stay at this hotel. Its a beautiful place with a lovely atmosphere and we were lucky enough to get a room with a sea view, which was stunning. Would have been even better if the windows and net curtains had been cleaner, but that should be an easy thing for the hotel management to solve? The price is fair and the staff are very friendly and hard working. Thanks for another lovely stay. More...

Stayed for 2 nights in October, our room was lovely & big hinting of grander days. It had 2 large walk in wardrobes, a very comfortable bed and a separate tv room. All that was missing was the sea view though we could see the Masonic Hall and St Leonard’s Park. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly, the hotel itself could do with a little tlc but it still has a feel of grandeur. More...

Some staff were a little iffy, and we were served meat sausages and told they were vegetarian. Was less than happy with that but after speaking to a the chef he accommodated our vegan diet more than we could have ever hoped for. Most of the staff made us feel so welcomed. Some of the rooms are a little lacking in facilities and run down. We would stay again. More...

The hotel is charming: I see no reason to modernise 80's bathroom tiles, or Dimplex storage heaters if they all still work! It's a hotel in all its faded glory, but still magnificent. You can still marvel at areas Queen Victoria would have encountered... ||What made the hotel was the staff: attentive young ladies waiting at breakfast, who were perfectly polite to other snippy guests, Maggie had us checked in and in our room in a heartbeat of arriving and Toma was just fab when I realised I'd booked the wrong night!!.Also met a fun cleaner who had a joke with me about standing on tip toes to clean the 7 foot high mirrors!||It's a good, bracing 20 min walk of sea air to Old Town, too: a better option than spending more on accommodation nearby. ||We'll be back again.
