I was the bridesmaid for Yvonne who is a Taiwanese lady who speaks little English. Clare from River Elliot Bridal was incredibly kind to Yvonne and went out of her way to make her feel relaxed and reassured. Clare fitted Yvonne into her busy schedule with little notice and was easy to contact at all times. Clare did a brilliant job in altering Yvonne's dress so that it fit her perfectly and looked amazing on the day. Clare is an absolute angel! She has a very busy schedule and still found time to squeeze in alterations on mine and my bridesmaid's dresses. The work was perfectly done - I asked her to adjust very delicate straps and add support in the bust area. For my bridesmaid, I asked for the buttons to be removed from the back of the dress - this definitely wasn't a simple task as it would change how the dress fitted in the front too. I was so happy with the results, I was able to dance the night away and my dress did not move, it fitted so perfectly! Clare did an excellent job altering my wedding dress. Together, we picked out a beaded waist trim that would accentuate the waistline of the dress and it turned out stunning! Clare is knowledgable with her technical sewing skills and has an eye for design. She is also very thoughtful, coming to my apartment when I was unable to make it to her studio. I am delighted with my dress. I went to Clare with a vague idea about what I wanted and she created a dress more beautiful than I could have hoped for. The fit is perfect and the finish immaculate. (I had tried on so many in store options before I found Clare and was always left disappointed) I felt comfortable with Clare from start to finish and enjoyed the little touches that made the experience so fun; especially the glass of Prosecco I received on arrival! Thank you Clare for such a fantastic job on Debbie's vintage wedding dress. You had a lot of work to do to transform this dress and you were super enthusiastic about her Mum's dress which she thought might be beyond hope. You were very knowledgeable about the construction techniques from this era and extremely skilled at making the necessary fixes. (The dress needed the sleeves removing for our summer wedding, extra panels added to the back and easing over the hips. It also needed the train trimming to remove some ancient stains from a wet winter wedding in 1965 that dry cleaning wouldn't shift.) You went above and beyond what she expected in order to provide her with a wedding dress she was proud to wear on our wedding day.
