Proficiency

Just over a year ago, I purchased my first renovation project. I had never done anything like this before and after searching the web I sourced 4-5 quotes. I decided to go for Proficiency because they were reasonable and their quote was well structured and detailed through out. The Job included a lower ground extension and house renovation. I have nothing but good things to say about proficiency. Their work was done to the highest of standards. Their tiling, carpentry & painting were exceptional and the project was completed on time and within budget. They we're negotiable about interior design changes and allowed me to be very involved in the process even to the point of helping me source particular fixtures I wanted for the house, keeping in theme with the style we had gone for. They gave me helpful advise on certain elements I had overlooked such as up-cycling the existing floorboards, additional water pumps needed and centralising the external bi-folds to make the extension symmetrical from the outside rather than inside. On request Proficiency made cabinetry around our fireplace to match our new Tom Howley Kitchen and honestly, the craftsmanship and detailing makes them look identical. Once the project was finished it's was had to believe its was same house.Would like to say a massive thank you to all the Proficiency team for their hard work, efficiency and attention to detail. I am pleased with and grateful for their work on my flat refurbishment. From site survey, design and build, to final finishing touch, they helped me throughout the project. They were really professional and did not compromise on the quality of their job. Not only they were willing to accommodate my many special requests, sometimes change of plan at the last minute, but they were not shy away from making practical suggestions, which all proved to be invaluable. I guess for most home owners building projects are painful process, but oddly for me this has been an enjoyable journey thanks to their great team. More...

Proficiency are thoroughly professional and worked quickly, to budget and at a very high quality. I would definitely recommend.

We spent some time choosing our builders to build our 1-story extension. We had a tight budget and Proficiency came in a with a very competitive quote as well as being one of the most thorough and detailed. We met with Jimmy, who went through the questions we had at some length.

We were very anxious as this was our first project of this type and our first baby was due in four months after the start date. As such, the project had to be completed in a short and fixed period. We also had a few preliminary issues (delays in Party Wall Act notices and the snow in early March) – as such, work started a couple of weeks late. Even then, Jimmy, Besi and the guys finished early and to budget. They did a very good job and the build quality is excellent.

There were problems that arose (flooring that was not delivered, a cock-up over the kitchen design etc) and there was inevitably some snagging. However, what impressed us was that Jimmy and Besi would always have time to make sure the problem was sorted to our satisfaction and would go beyond what I would have expected to make sure we were satisfied. When there were communication issues, Jimmy or Besi would find the time to speak with us at our convenience, and we were able to resolve all the issues.

Great construction company. Project manager did a fantastic job at my home extension. Architect also did a great job. I was able to came to office and see my extension in live demonstration. Architect advised me what was possible to build and what not. At the same time while I was visiting their office I also had a chance to get a consultation about interior design.
