"I have learnt to laugh again" "Finally I can breathe out" "With every week of seeing Christine, I could feel and hear myself changing"
CBT is recognised as helping people who suffer from depression, anxiety, stress, low self esteem and other perceptions that cause distress. It is a flexible approach in changing negative thought patterns and offers coping strategies and empowers you to be more confident, in control and to recognise that you possess the resources to overcome difficulties.
In the counselling relationship the therapist and client work together to explore and uncover issues that may be holding the the client back from reaching their full potential. Coaching is the next step after gaining clarity of the past, to then move forward and form life goals and to empower the person to lead a more fulfilling life.
A combination of counselling, coaching and CBT interventions from myself can help you grow in strength and confidence; to move into a more acceptable and comfortable psychological place to be.
Life brings with it many challenges and sometimes the timing of them can catch us off balance; counselling can help with this adjustment.
In addition, emotional upheaval and personal difficulties can leave its mark, by blocking or diminishing our confidence and self-determination. This in turn may hold us back from living to our full potential.
I offer you a warm, confidential, non-judgemental environment to explore the issues you bring to counselling. My therapeutic approach is integrative - a blend of theoretical approaches and insights contribute to the way I am present with you during the session. Sometimes it may be more comfortable for you to use creative techniques to explore your pain, such as drawing a life line or mind mapping.
Together, in a trusting relationship, the conscious cause of your distress can be safely explored in your own time, in your own way. I will walk with you, supporting you with genuine care, acceptance and empathy.
I am a Registered Member of the BACP and adhere to their Ethical Framework For Good Practice in Counselling.
A relative used Christine and was very happy with the service.
