Piper have been great, for us. Their approach to fees seems a lot fairer to both landlords and tenants, than other letting agents. It's been useful to have someone on the end of the phone who has time to talk us through various issues, as we're first time landlords, and Piper have always had plenty of time for us. We have found that we can get jobs done in the house at cheaper prices than their contractors have quoted, but using Piper as a letting agent has in no way prevented us from using our own contractors. I would, and have, recommended them to anyone letting out a property in Bristol.

We rent a basement flat through this agent and has been absolutely a nightmare since we started.
At the beggining all the agents were very kind and helpfull, however, once we start our tenancy the problems started.

When we start, the house was disgusting, but we thought it was normal and we didn´t complaint or took any picture. At the end of our tenancy we cleaned properly the house. They tried to charge us 210 pounds from our deposit because "IT WAS DUSTY", just this. We supposed to leave the house in the same consition than it was, we left the house in much better condition but because we had no proof adn we didn´t taken professional cleaning. Absolutely ridiculous! We didn´t want to argue because we moved abroad.
Since we started our tenancy, they had been doing loads of works and fixing things such as:
-They change the hob from the kitchen because when we started was completly burnt. (1 week)
-They covered walls for the dumpness we complained when we arrived.(it took about 2 month)
-They changed the heater because during the winter stops working (took about 1 month). Still not really working at the moment.
-It was a leak right on top of the bed from upstairs at then end of the tenancy, after we reported this, we left the property and still didn´t fixed.

I could name a lot more things during this 2 years of tenancy.

Special complaint about how the agent deal with us, been really rude and unhelpfull. They were never calling us to let us know if somebody were coming to the property to fix one of those stuff. Some of them they no eve locked the door after they finished.

We were paying every month for a flat in absolutely very bad condition and they didn´t care at all. Special mention to Laura French as the manager and responsable of the agency in Bristol and to Megan Bale, the one who made the check out. Basically she came late, i felt like she was not interested at all on what I was trying to explain her and on a rush(she tried to charge me for a wood table i left outside the property. I ask her if it was ok, because maybe the new tenants want it, but then she contacted me saying nothing can be left outside and we were already abroad.)The only thing she said to me on the check out was: I will take picture and I will let you know, you leave the property!
After 2 weeks we received the email of a charge of 210 pounds just because it was a bit dusty!!!

The worst agency I have never been. If somebody wants details I have all the emails about this.

Is not just I don´t recommend this to nobody, IT´S THE WORST PROFESSIONAL SERVICE COMPANY I HAVE NEVER BEEN!!!!!!

Awful experience. Moved in. They told us british gas was our provider and they had written to them informing them of change of tennent only for us to be told 3 months later that we actually are with scottish power. Thank god they are no longer the people who look after the property. Avoid if possible

They cost our landlord money, as well as being terrible to deal with from a tenant perspective. Their paperwork is boilerplate that you can download for free online - a big hole in their contract made for a messy resolution when we left our property in January.

TENANTS; we spent a month without a washing machine, and they simply would not get on and get it sorted! Their maintenance people left nasty, dirty, wet rubbish all over our home when they came to do some work.

An agency to avoid.

For my first time renting I couldn’t of asked for a better company to go through. The process was great and all my questions were always answered. Staff are very friendly and always helpful. I was still able to collect my keys on the day agreed even when it was snowing!! It has been a pleasure and would definitely go through Piper Property again.

I have been with Piper Properties from almost its inception. The Owner/Director, Peter Stephenson, impressed me with his then, enlightened and visionary approach to managing lettings on behalf of landlords. I had been letting properties for almost 25 years up to this point and had mixed experiences of Agents, ranging from poor tenant selection, to excessive charges, both to landlord to and tenant, and lamentable monitoring of the properties and the contents.
None of these has been a feature of Peter's management of my Cardiff and Bristol properties. On the contrary, Peter's tenant selection over more than a decade has been without fault, his charge to landlords is one of the lowest in the industry (plus he does not charge for contract renewals), and he makes no charge to tenants. This latter approach was unique in my experience, and remains unusual as far as I know. The result is so many more quality tenancy applications and contented tenants from the outset. Management of the properties has also been exemplary.
I cannot recommend Piper Properties too highly. In an industry of wide ranging standards Piper must rate among the top for service to both landlord and tenant. A maximum 5 Star review is thoroughly deserved.

Piper Property manage my properties in Bristol. There have been minimal void periods (due to them not charging tenants fees) and all the tenants they have found have been good tenants. I want my tenants to be well looked after and Piper Property go that extra mile. I would definitely recommend them to find you tenants and manage the tenancy and your property professionally.

Amazing! Not only does this letting agency not fleece the tenant for £100's in agency fees they are also one of the most responsive, helpful and professional agencies I have had the pleasure to encounter in the Bristol area.

Their Letting agent, Holly is such a peach. She will take all the stress and worry away, answers all your questions without making you feel like you're putting her out. She is a true asset to this business and I was lucky to have her as my agent. I'm sure all the other staff are just as awesomely helpful and friendly too, anytime I have called the office there's always been a friendly but professional person there to answer.

Myself and my girlfriend are very impressed with Piper Property. We have experienced a few problems with the property we currently rent in Bristol and Piper Property have been absolutely fantastic. Not only have they replied to our concerns quickly, but contacted and landlord and problems have been remedied within the space of a day or two. Very helpful and approachable staff. I don't usually leave reviews unless I experience exceptional customer service and I am pleased to say Piper Property have exceeded my expectations.

Also they charge no fee's to tenants. I don't know how they do it but it's pretty awesome. It makes living in Bristol a pleasure. Thank you.

All the staff who we have encountered have been friendly, very helpful and totally professional. Everything moves along quickly, and best news yet: if you're a tenant you don't have to pay a penny of agency fees. So nice to deal with such an open and honest business. Particularly in Bristol, where the housing market normally seems set up to bleed tenants dry so they can never move, let alone save to buy their own pads!

Well done Piper Property. You will be my first call when I am ready to move from the amazing new flat you helped us secure! Thank you to everyone involved :)

Actually it's a nice agency but they have a terrible service with their post tenants. Our deposits were more than a month late and they have received all our mails and without noticing us they have redirected them back to the sender's. Therefore no clue what we should have received during a 3 month period, on top of that when I call them to go there and receive them the officer was talking to me in an offensive way! Also she repeated that she had contacted me for this situation and by researching all my mails there is no evidence like that! Many more problems occured at the end of our tenancy agreement such as high costs of garden maintenance, property cleaning and lot more. To sum up great pre-service but terrible post-service

As one of Piper’s first Landlords I’ve been really happy with the service. Great tenants, all problems sorted really quickly and all emails answered within minutes usually. Tenants love Piper too as no fees and all very transparent. Highly recommended!
