I’m quite new to Sarah’s Pilates sessions though I have practiced Pilates on and off for about 8 years. I have noticed a difference already in my core strength and posture and feel so much better as a result. Sarah is an excellent Pilates instructor. Sarah always explains why we are doing a particular exercise and how it will benefit us. When I sprained my ankle I was still able to go to the classes - Sarah just adjusted some of the exercises to suit me. Her terms and conditions are very reasonable and I can't see myself stopping going any time soon! Thanks Sarah. More...

I highly recommend these Pilates classes. Sarah is a fantastic teacher and also highly knowledgeable physiologically. Pilates with Sarah has cured my back pain, my posture has improved and I feel stronger and healthier in body and mind. Since telling Sarah I'm pregnant she has taken the time to talk through any questions I have about exercise and always personalises her teaching in the group classes to my specific needs. I started going to Pilates with Sarah nearly 4 years ago when she did classes in the local school. I had a one to one class to begin with to help with the basics before moving to a class. It has helped and I rarely have back ache (touch wood).I was still able to go through my pregnancy with the adaption of some exercises within the class. I attend one of Sarah’s outreach classes in Barnard Castle. What can I say, her knowledge and expertise is wonderful. I’ve been to other instructors up and down the country and Sarah is the best yet. Sarah has helped me understand the meaning of Pilates and what it involves. Her instructions have made me fully appreciate what it is I am meant to be doing and this in turn has helped with my posture which I am now trying to put into practice with my running. I began attending pilates classes as a short-term measure to help my recovery after an accident. However my injury healed a while ago now and I’m still going strong with the classes. Some of the reasons why I’ve managed to keep my motivation are that the studio is lovely with a great welcoming atmosphere, there is a diverse range of students, the classes are varied even if you attend a couple of sessions a week and they’re adaptable for those who are recovering from an injury or those who want more of a challenge. After years of running up and down mountains I realised that doing Pilates regularly is vital if you want to keep doing sport as you get older. I have been to Pilates classes and 1 to 1 sessions all over the north east; now I only go to Pilates and Beyond – even though it means travelling a bit further. Not only is Sarah an expert, she also manages to keep the programme constantly varied, so you don’t get bored. I have been going to Sarah for some time now and she has enabled me to overcome my dislike of any form of exercise (apart from walking and swimming). My posture has improved and so has my flexibility. She is highly professional, caring and provides a calm, clean, tasteful environment. She doesn't overload the classes - this means we all can get personal attention. It is common to pay for a series of classes up front. Most people would realise this. More...

I have been going to Sarah for two years at the Darlington Studio and before then at local village halls, she is an excellent teacher and I feel my body has strengthened and toned since I have been going. I feel very aware of my posture at work and try to sit, walk and work correctly and this is due to what I have learnt in her classes. Her classes are not too big so you feel she can tweak you individually to get the right movement. The exercises we do are changed so you don't get bored either which is great and there's often new bits of equipment for us to have fun with !. The studio is lovely and parking right outside - ideal. This is a fantastic studio and Sarah is a super Pilates instructor. I have been going here once a week for over 2 years and Sarah has helped me recover from two big hip operations and through a pregnancy. I would recommend her to anyone looking for Pilates classes which are not only enjoyable but also challenging and really make a difference. I feel so much better after each session. The small classes means Sarah focuses on everyone’s needs and different abilities, offering alternative exercises when needed. I have been going to Pilates and Beyond for 18 months. I attend both an advanced Pilates class and a high intensity Pilates class. Sarah teaches a wide variety of exercises every week making classes challenging. She gives adaptations for each exercise if anyone has an injury allowing them to get the benefits without causing further injury or pain. The studio is beautiful and ideally located in Darlington. Classes are small allowing Sarah to correct and advise everyone present. I would highly recommend Sarah and her business Pilates and Beyond. More...

Sarah is a genius in Pilates. We are so privileged having her in the North East. I’ve tried several different classes with different people over the years but she’s the best! In addition to being body control trained, she regularly does advanced training so has the most up to date techniques (and equipment) and is extremely knowledgeable about anatomy and back care. She’s supported me through a very nasty whiplash injury and a long term hip problem in 1:1 sessions and her classes. My hospital Physio recommended her personally! I can’t rate her highly enough- you just need to book in good time and get into a 1:1 session or a term of classes as soon as she has a space as she is so good, she understandably gets booked up super quickly!
