Welcome to Outeractive, an outdoor fitness and personal training company with branches in West and South West London and Effingham, Surrey. We offer one to one and small group Personal training sessions in local parks and open spaces, or in the privacy of the client's own home as well as outdoor group fitness classes and Canicross (trail running with your dog!

i have been attending Juliet's Tuesday 9.30am class for quite a while. She is great with beginners and also if you are looking for something more hardcore she won't leave you disappointed. Some people just want to get fit, some are training for marathons, either way it's a great workout and I would definitely recommend it. More...

After an initial consultation, we will design a personalised programme, starting at where you are now and progressing to levels you may have only dreamed of! Our programmes are carefully constructed to avoid plateaus and push you to the best of your abilities. We can design weekly session plans or ‘homework’ for you to do on your own, outside of our sessions. We also use other motivational tools such as nutritional guidance, food diaries and can factor in fitness testing and weight-loss measurements as required.

In order to have the body of your dreams, you need to commit to eating healthily and exercising regularly – making it a lifestyle choice, not just a quick fix. We do not recommend fad diets and extreme cardio exercise plans which will leave you burnt out, feeling low on energy, and your body in starvation and muscle wasting mode. Another key factor is enjoying your workouts. You are much more likely to stick with an exercise plan you actually like! At Outer Active we strongly believe that fitness should be a fun investment of your time and we strive to make every session enjoyable as well as challenging and aimed at achieving your personal goals.

I am passionate about health and fitness but I am very aware that not everyone feels the same way! Many of my clients come to me hating exercise and feeling daunted by the prospect of changing their eating habits. I absolutely love seeing my clients’ attitudes change over time as I train them. The sense of pride as they inform me they actually did some exercise (and enjoyed it!) in between our sessions, the delight as they tell me how they made much healthier food choices at the weekend and the newfound confidence they display as they start to appreciate their bodies is as rewarding to me as the physical transformations I see in them.

Outer Active was born from a passion for exercise, nutrition and being outdoors. My business partner is my sister. We grew up taking part in recreational sport and after pursuing careers in different fields, both gravitated back to fitness at the same time. Although we love exercising, neither of us really enjoys going to the gym and we understand that many people share our sentiment! Modern life means that most of us spend too much time indoors sitting at a desk. Our company ethos is to get people to be active in the great outdoors as much as possible (even in the winter months). We specialise in functional fitness – whole body exercises with an emphasis on core muscles which allow individuals to move and perform better in daily life activities without injury. Starting our own outdoor functional fitness was the obvious choice for us as it means we can do what we are passionate about without compromise!

At Outer Active we specialise in functional fitness. We have been working as personal trainers for almost 7 years and have spent many years developing our skills and knowledge in this field, so we know what works and what doesn’t! We are qualified in Kettlebells, Suspension Training/TRX, Pre and Post Natal exercise, Boxing for Fitness, Circuit Training, Core Stability, Running and Canicross (trail running with your dog!). We also offer nutritional guidance (my business partner is a qualified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner) and Yoga (I am a qualified Hatha and Vinyasa Flow Yoga teacher) so we can provide our clients with a truly holistic approach to transforming their bodies, health and lives. If you want to lose weight, get fit, increase your energy levels and move better in daily life, all in a fun and enjoyable way, we would love to help you. If you want to become a body-builder and live on protein shakes and canned tuna, look elsewhere!
