I had a 1:1 makeup lesson with Nicola, as a birthday gift. Being "middle aged" I felt I needed some up to date advice on how to apply makeup in a fashionable way to match my age. Nicola came to my house. She made me feel completely at ease. There was no hard sell of products - as she uses many different brands that she finds works best. She was knowledegeable about all the products she uses and why she would recommend them.I had a lovely afternoon with Nicola, who helped me achieve the look I was looking for. She applied makeup to half my face and then I had to match it using her techniques to the other side of my face. She also sent an e mail with attachments to remind me of how we had applied the makeup.I was also given a brush set as a gift for using her services. I have recently had a bespoke make-up lesson with Nicola which was both interesting and a huge amount of fun. She is not only extremely professional and approachable but she has a good sense of humour, and makes one feel immediately at ease. I learnt alot about not only applying make up to better enhance my features, but I was also introduced to some brands that I had never used from her wide range of products. There is no "hard sell" of any product/brand but Nicola is happy to address any queries and make recommendations that she feels are suitable for your particular requirements should you ask. Nicola joined me for a photo shoot in the summer, to do my client's makeup. My client doesn't usually wear makeup, so this was a treat as part of her photo shoot. Nicola made her feel comfortable and relaxed during the makeup process, explaining what she was doing. The end result was a very happy client, who looked gorgeous, loved the whole experience and took away lovely images. I can't wait to work with Nicola again, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her. She is a great teacher and has a really wide variety of make up and brushes so it is possible to try out and practise lots of different things.
