I find supervision extremely useful for my on-going learning and development as a coach. Maureen has the ability to provide a psychologically safe space, and her skilful questioning and feedback allows me to effectively reflect and explore my practice as a coach.

Q&As

I love helping people, particularly people with potential whose progress has been impaired by anxiety or other life limiting conditions. I believe that everyone is equipped to manage the challenges in their lives and holistic life coaching enables us to work together to unleash that potential.

I started my business in 1995 and initially wrote business plans and project plans, working mainly with community groups and sports clubs. As I got older I was drawn to the health and well-being of individuals rather than communities and began a challenging personal and professional development route. I trained initially as a masseuse and reflexologist but felt drawn to a more holistic approach to supporting people with chronic pain. The National Institute for Clinical Excellence seems to think the same - NICE Guidelines (2016) recommend attention to a combination of mechanical and psychosocial factors in management of low back pain. While most massage therapists will be able to provide massage and hands-on treatment, I have up-skilled in line with NICE guidelines which clearly recommend an holistic approach to achieve optimum results in patient management.
To my Sports Massage qualifications, I have added exercise competencies as a Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor as well as psychological certification including mindfulness with CBT. I have also completed training in pain and chronic condition management.
Understanding the efficacy of water as a medium of physical treatment with both physiological and psychological benefits, our new facilities now include a hydrotherapy area, sauna, swimming pool and Jacuzzi.
The pools provide an environment where a person can move with lower energy effort and exercise with little or no pain, while water resistance helps increase muscular strength and endurance. At present people with chronic pain tend to avoid activity due to pain or fear of pain which in itself can exacerbate health problems.
I am currently undertaking an undergraduate degree in Psychology as part of my ongoing CPD

I have a wide range of on-site facilities which means that clients can choose from a variety of options. I have personal experience in life-coaching (four years) working with clients with chronic physical and mental health conditions, male and female, of all ages. I also offer life coach supervision to other qualified coaches. I am easy to talk to, because in my own life, I have had personal experience (close family members) of terminal illness, bereavement, addiction, anxiety. I personally manage a chronic condition and have used the techniques I teach to develop strategies that enable me to optimize my energies and fulfil my potential.
