Having turned professional in December 2001, it is fair to say that this close up magician knows his way around a trick or two, but more importantly, he’s an entertainer who knows how to entertain and get people into the spirit of things!

McBratney Magic entertained our delegates at a recent Conference in Oxford with his close up magic during pre dinner drinks and then the service of dinner.
The delegates and organisers were both wowed and amazed at how he could magic away a signed £20 note so easily right in front of their eyes and then make it magically appear inside a kiwi-fruit. He was a great success and a true asset to the conference dinner making it a magical evening and yet still allowing the delegates plenty of networking opportunities. How long have you been interested in magic?
I have been a full time professional magician and entertainer since 2001. I have work all over the UK. I am interested in all aspects of magic - Close up magic, comedy magic and mind-reading shows and children's entertainment.
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
Weddings:
Mix n mingle close up magic when guests gather together before the wedding breakfast. The magic I perform for this is the perfect icebreaker, it encourages guests who may not know many people to engage with other guests. Magic at the table, Table to table during the wedding breakfast - great fun. Close up magic when the evening guests arrive. And yes, I also provide magic for Hen nights and Stag nights! I can also provide top notch children's entertainment during speeches.
Dinners, Balls and Proms:
Pre dinner mix n mingle close up magic and close up magic table to table during dinner and comedy magic shows.
Corporate events, Staff Training and exhibitions and conventions.
Using magic to promote your message or product is a brilliant yet unobtrusive to get your name out there. At an exhibition or convention it can be a valuable sales tool to increase traffic to your sales area. Magic always goes down well at staff events, everyone like to see the CEO being a good sport and being on the end of some friendly magic banter!

Christenings, Birthday Parties, Anniversaries, Weddings and Engagement parties, Company parties and all types of events. Hotel and restaurants.

What do you love most about your job?
The people I meet along the the way - I have met some of the most amazing and inspirational individuals -
No two jobs are the same and each brings its own challenges and opportunities - that keeps me on my toes!
What inspired you to start your own business?
A great friend of mine and mentor encouraged me to - and I did!

Difficult one -you have a lot to choose from, but here goes!
I'm a full time professional entertainer and magician, with a fair bit of experience and expertise under my belt. I am reliable and trustworthy (I know that sounds odd coming from a magician who might steal your watch or take your guests hard earned money and do nasty things to it - but they do get it back)!
I am a member of the world famous Magic Circle (the premier magic club in the world).
It doesn't make me a better entertainer but I am a member of Equity, hold a current enhanced DBS check, have PL insurance of £10m (but have had to use it!) all electrical equipment is PAT tested, all performances are risk assessed and I even have a Performing Animals License!
If you book me I can promise you quality, reliability and lots of magic fun!
