Disappointed Maunsel House don't take the seriousness of refusing a refund for a wedding due to the pandemic and would rather adopt stalling tactics whilst continuing to trade despite the company Country Weddings Limited being dissolved and struck off for failing to lodge accounts with Companies House.
To continue trading is illegal and if any one has received a contract from Country Weddings Limited after 17/11/2020 it's not worth the paper it's written on as they are trading illegally.
When challenged about staff members or others with considerable interest in the businesses posting fake reviews from their own profiles on Facebook they have removed all reviews good and bad as they are unable to remove just the negative ones without the positive posts being removed also.
Be aware they clearly do not like refunding any monies paid as other negative reviews have stated and will adopt any stalling tactics to ensure this does not happen unless down the line you have a court order and have to send the bailiffs in.

I would be very careful about handing over money for a wedding in advance of it taking place, because if you have to, or want to cancel, it is unlikely you will get any money back.
Just over £9,000 paid and Maunsel Ltd (name of the company currently in operation at Maunsel House Weddings) have offered £5,800 in 3 instalments and yet are overdue on first payment.
Maunsel Limited Companies do not last more than a few years, before they are compulsory struck off.

Lovely grounds and plenty to do for anyone looking for an escape to the country. Very unique decor with lots of interesting things to look at around the house. The staff were very helpful, polite and really helped to settle everyone in. The bar staff were friendly and easy to talk to, even remembered what drinks people were having. Great for quiet. Only fishing through Taunton angling association. Get a day ticket either in town or via the internet. Great birds at maunsel. Some I've never seen before. Not just geese or ducks. And so quoet. And, some great fishing. More...

The Shuffles Band
We love this venue. The bar, if you don't know, is totally unique. I won't spoil it. The house is full of quirky treasures from top to bottom. Food is always good. Staff are always friendly and helpful. We see a lot of wedding venues and Manuel House definitely has a homely feel unlike the more branded/corporate venues. No noise limiter, last time we looked, which is important if you are booking a band. Plenty of parking for guests and lots of exploring for the intrigued! We would recommend Manuel house to anyone that is looking for a wedding/function venue. More...

I stayed in Maunsel House in September 2010. Sir Ben is a distant cousin of mine on my maternal Grandfather's side. I have all sorts of photos and memorabilia that Ben gave me, including the family tree and a wonderful map of the property. He is such a generous and flamboyant character. I was thrilled to meet him and have a grand tour of the house and property. I would dearly love to go again!. More...
