Dropped in while on a business trip and the academy was very nice, clean, (and even have showers) and students were all friendly and welcoming, and savages that gave very tough rolls! Professor Mario was very detailed when demonstrating the technique showing many variations and made sure we understood while drilling it. I've trained all over the world, and even if I'm not a master, I can spot a good professor from a hack. Mario is a legend and a master BJJ professor. Any coach can teach you a cool move, but a true professor can show you little things that make your game instantly better, which is what Mario was able to do for me when I dropped in on an open mat back in February.Whenever I get back to Miami I'll definitely be on these mats, not just because of Mario, but everyone rolling there. Truly did not meet one bad person there, a lot of high level BJJ players, but just a lot of good vibes and friendly people. Coach Sperry is an awesome instructor. What’s the secret to getting the body of your dreams?
The body of your dream is the result of a constant routine of exercises, healthy eating and good habits. You don't see improvement after one workout, but after 6 months of regular exercising, the results become clear. It is about the routine! Many people cannot keep the routine for a long period of time because they don't enjoy what they do. You need to do something you enjoy. Practicing a sport that provides continuous improvement opportunity is better because you will remain motivated. Jiu Jitsu offers you this! Independent of your age or sex you can practice Jiu Jitsu and get better, and you will see it. Jiu Jitsu practitioners enjoy a healthy life style. This environment will motivate you to keep practicing!
What do you love most about your job?
The opportunity to pass my learnings to the students and see their motivation. I dedicated my life to Jiu Jitsu and Martial Arts. I can do what I love and help people improve their lives.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had several gyms before. I enjoy teaching and fighting and want to leave a positive legacy to the martial arts world. I open Mario Sperry Miami to bring my method to the United States.
