I have joined Mara combat classes 2 months ago.From my first lesson I knew I belong here. I was very impressed with the atmosphere and very challenging workout. Dave is really great as a teacher. Extremely well spoken, very professional at what he is doing. Mara classes teach you quickly very effective self defence techniques along with calming your mind.I feel much better since I have joined the club. Mara is a fantastic Martial Arts Club. The instructor, Dave, has a vast amount of martial arts experience and is a dedicated instructor. Getting on a bit in life I wanted I wanted a new direction to keep me fit and I found it in Mara, a club that is not easy to join but once through their selection its an amazing experience. Absolutely no egos amonst the students, who go out of their way to help your development. In no small way due to the superb teaching ability of the founder and chief instructor Dave, who is referred to in the traditional way as Lao Tzu. A lot of time is invested in each individuals development, as the club does not want turn out clones of each other, but rather each person is encouraged to develop Mara in their own to way to make it their own. The sylobus, whiie different from anything else, is completely modern and up to date, drawing on some traditional aspects of Chinese Martial Arts. More...

This is a real deal martial and combat arts club. The atmosphere is fantastic, you're pushed hard both mentally and physically but supported along the way from both the the founder - who invests huge time and effort into his students (more so than anyone I know) and the students; ego's are left at the door very quickly.
