We had our hall and corridor and two offices painted by Lane Sheppard. The lads came and did a superb job. They even fitted in a extra job without any fuss. Very professional and a keen eye for detail. I would recommend this company to paint your establishment no matter how big or small. Well done Lane Sheppard and thank you. More...

We have used Lane Sheppard at our school on two recent occasions to decorate our toilet blocks and a classroom. On both these occasions we found the firm to be very well organised attending site when they said they would and completing work in the scheduled time. The quality of the work is very high and the decorators were very co-operative and efficient, as were liaisons with their office staff. We will use them again for future projects, and i would recommend them to any school or firm looking to have decorating done. More...

Lane Sheppard, our saviours.
We are a busy North Yorkshire Hotel and we needed the reception area, bar and main staircase decorating, we were unable to close through the day as it was not cost effective so we decided to look for decorators who would work through the night.
After many unsuccessful phone calls to local companies we decided that we would look further afield and we found Lane Sheppard yay.

They completed the reception etc overnight with no disruption to guests or business and have since been steadily working through all of our 28 bedrooms and they are now scheduled to do the outside of both buildings.

We arrange a date, they arrive, finish when they say they will, the work is of the highest standard, the team are polite, courteous and professional and no interruption to our business.

Services

We will strip the existing wall covering (when and where required). We then wash the wall surface to remove any residual adhesives. After this any surface defects such as cracks or holes are filled using high quality fillers and decorators caulk. Areas which have been patched are then rubbed down using a variety of sandpapers and filing tools to ensure that a smooth and even surface has been created. Once surfaces are suitably prepared, the process of paper hanging begins. Papers are applied with superior-quality adhesive to ensure both a firm hold and a flawless appearance. We are able to hang a wide variety of papers depending on the customer's choice.

On all masonry type walls, we clean the surface thoroughly before any work is undertaken. If necessary, we will treat algae and any other fungal growths with a fungicidal wash. Any loose material is then scraped away using high quality filing tools. Any areas which are defective or bare are treated with a stabiliser solution before any paint is applied, this allows for an even finish to be obtained. Once surfaces are suitably prepared, the actual painting process begins. We use high quality tools to apply paint, allowing for an even coverage and a superior finish.

Metalwork is thoroughly prepared before any paint is applied. This involves us scraping back all loose and chipped paintwork to create a firm edge around the defective areas. We then abrade any areas of rust or oxidised metal using wire brushes and other filing tools. Areas that are defective are then ‘patched’ using a zinc phosphate primer. Once this has dried, we can start applying paint.

On all woodwork, the wood is rubbed down first using a variety of sandpapers and tools to create a surface that allows for paint to be applied smoothly. Any surface defects such as cracks or holes are filled using high quality fillers, and are then rubbed down again to ensure a consistent surface. Once surfaces are suitably prepared, we can start applying paint. We use high quality tools to apply paint, allowing for an even coverage and a superior finish.
Upon completion, all jobs are cleaned, tidied and left with as little trace of our presence as possible… apart of course from the decorating we’ve done!
