Lovely quaint pub with some interesting additions...... including a pommel horse...... food was wonderful and well presented, however very limited choices for vegetarian diners and will get busy as it is a popular place, best to book ahead if you can, overall, a nice visit......... shame not to see Mr B!!!!

We passed this Inn on our way to Eastbourne and was intriguided to try it on our way back for Lunch. We were not disappointed, the food was good, especially the Lamb, and the waiting staff particularly friendly and helpful. The piece de resistance was the the trio of super delicious ice cream, which was ample for two and I sadly had to share. You could teach a lot of restaurants in your area the way to go More...

It’s really a shame I can’t eat here more than once or twice every few years. I’ll be dreaming about it until next time.

Food 3/5 pub itself 5/5 Food was very pricey for what it was, salami and chorizo on the Mèze Was very dry and caprese salad nothing special. Not sure where ingredients are sourced but didn't seem to be the quality you'd expect for close to £16 for a sharing meze. That being said the pub itself is lovely, beautifully decorated and a nice rustic meets bistro feel to it. Only down side for us was some of the conversations we heard nearby, particularly so by the owner complaining rather pompously about run down areas in England, not impressed at all. More...

We went for lunch in Valentines Day and was dissppointed with the lack of atmosphere and polish For instance the menu was somewhat limited and found it strange that they cross out two thinks no longer available on the menu , can you not re -print your paper menu or just tell the customer , When asked about the lamb that had been taken off it was because they had four tables in previously that had ordered it . .. good luck those going in the evening could be nothing left and no specials ||Not sure the girls were happy with the job and just found the place lacking what it had when it first opened . This is a charming country Inn, full of original character. Set in a tiny village within 20mins of Hailsham or Hastings areas. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating and the bar & restaurant was excellent and obviously popular with local residents. My room was lovely, light and airy. It had a small shower but modern and powerful. The room was full of charm and character with a wash basin and very nice toiletries. The bed was particularly comfortable with beautifully laundered, crisp white linen - a home from home! More...

The room was clean and had a nice big comfy bed and a good size bathroom with shower. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was great. The cooked breakfasts were the excellent. We would thoroughly recommend staying if you would like to explore the surrounding sussex countryside and the south coast.
