By far the best personal trainer in Los Angeles. I've never actually worked with a trainer who knew how to push me to reach my own potential. I was a three sport athlete in high school who fell off the grid in college, got bogged down partying too much, then forgot how to go to the gym. Seriously gained 30 pounds my freshman year of college, developed an eating disorder to fix it, completely neglected my own athleticism... Jon Kaker singlehandedly brought m back to elite competitive form and now I dominate in every sport I compete in. The best part? I didn't change my diet at all, I eat whatever I want and I have 17% body fat as a woman. That's something I couldn't achieve even when I was starving myself. A fun, yet challenging workout. Jon Kaker has a fine tuned eye for giving you the right adjustments to your technique to be able to spring faster, jump higher, and workout safer. On squats and jumps, he noticed I was turning one knee in slightly and told me that could lead to a bad ACL injury down the line. He might have just saved me from an awful ACL injury down the line! As a former division 1 athlete, I can honestly say that going through Jon's Vertimax program is the closest thing I've felt to being back in my college program.  You will be sore the next day.  You will feel muscles you didn't know you had.  But you will also come out the other side more explosive and a better overall athlete.  The combination of the resistance training and Jon's knowledge make for a great workout.  If you want to regain the explosive step you may have lost, or just to improve your quickness and speed, this is a great way to get there! I did the Vertimax class with Jon Kaker and it was intense but I enjoyed it. I go to the gym regularly and I realized that my gym regimen is nothing during this workout session. I use to play Volleyball and doing some of the stuff Jon had us doing use to be so easy, but I'm out of shape and this class will whip me right back into shape. We did a series of workouts in rotation, lots of glutes and legs and abs. Jon was very helpful and eager to make sure I did the workouts with the correct form so I do not hurt myself. He encouraged me to practice in the mirror while there so I can see exactly what I was doing and then see exactly what I should be doing. Even with others who were more experienced in the class and I was moving slow, Jon still encouraged me to keep going and didn't make me feel like I shouldn't be there with experienced people. Everything worked out perfectly and I really enjoyed the class and I'm awaiting the really sore moments and returning to more classes to see if I can get back in shape. Jon is very knowledgeable about the muscles that you are working on and willing to answer questions, demonstrate proper technique and is HIGHLY recommended!!! More...

I've worked with Jon Kaker (JK) for a while now and I am so thankful I met him...I am a former Varsity star athlete that got caught up in the business world and lost touch with my personal fitness over the years. I leveled with JK about my situation and he immediately got on board to work with me at my level, he made me feel welcomed, and helped me set realistic goals. JK has been a positive motivator from the start and he has already been more involved in my health, fitness & improvement plan than I expected. If you want to talk about going above and beyond, he does it. In my experience, he sets a new bar for personal trainers. I've been training with Jon for less than a month as part of a regular fitness and self-improvement regimen and, I must say, I'm quite impressed. He consistently puts me through novel, fun, safe and powerful workouts to keep my body developing at maximum speed. Every session with Jon is different, although he takes care to focus on my specific fitness goals, and I leave each session feeling like a (very sore) million bucks. I've already noticed an improvement in my physique after only three weeks, so I've already committed to three months.Jon has a precocious grasp of fitness physiology and anatomy and what it takes to maximize results and keep the body balanced and healthy. I'm a professional figure skater and I trained with Jon doing personal training sessions and his Vertimax class to maintain my athletic skills and to tone before a beauty pageant. His Vertimax class will kick your butt! It's a high intensity, fast pace circuit workout that promises to tackle muscles you didn't even know you had! As a personal trainer, Jon was great! He knew when to really push me, but also made it fun at the same time. What I loved most about my personal training sessions was that each one was different from the last. Jon is full of knowledge and has a plethora of exercises to bring to your workouts. Best of all, he has a great heart and is eager to see you improve. It's clear that he loves what he does. I use both traditional weight training and plyometrics to provide the optimal workout. I create personalized regiments for foundational strength, toning, improved sports performance, weight loss, speed, agility, and an overall healthy lifestyle.

New clients start out with a consultation where I assess your fitness level and create a program to fit your goals. I can guarantee that if you consistently train with me you will never plateau, I will always push you to improve.

Making everyday count. 30 minutes a day minimum. Split workout routines are ideal for fitness progress.

I love working with people to help them achieve their fitness goals and dreams. My proudest accomplishment is making my client Ted mid 50's dunk a basketball for the first time in his life. Amazing feeling of accomplishment.
