We were looking for a magician to do some table magic during the meal at our Christmas party, and we chose John because he responded quickly (and very humorously! ) to our online inquiry and offered just what we were looking for for a great price! We were hoping that a magician would keep our guests entertained in between courses, and John did just that. With 340 of us, John did a great job in getting round everybody with some mind blowing magic and some great comedy. What an absolute treat! When I told my wedding guests we had booked a magician, I got a few eye rolls, I promised them John was no ordinary magician. Recommended by our wedding planner, I called John and following our call I booked him immediately. He's not an ordinary magician, he's a bit of a legend! We hired John for our daughter's wedding as we were worried about keeping guests entertained during long process of photographs and the lull between daytime and evening. We'd initially seen an ad on 'hitched.co.uk' and recalled we had seen him at a party or event but couldn't remember where.After googling and stalking on Twitter, we decided he would be great entertainment and we weren't wrong.From his initial response to us, through to the close of his act, he was funny and really had everyone transfixed.He worked the crowd really well, young and old and was patient with family members who thought they were funnier than he was (they weren't!)We did the whole day package which started after the ceremony and into the evening and was definitely worth every penny. All the guests loved him, he kept the mood light, and was easily able to read the various personalities to cater for all tastes.We cannot recommend him highly enough. If I had access to a loudhailer and no fear of heights I would sing his praises from the rooftops!We are now wondering what other events we can organise to have him back, although having met our families, he might find himself too busy! We booked John for our daughter's wedding to try and and avoid the lull during photos. We found him through the hitched. co.uk website and after doing a little bit of research, decided it was exactly what we wanted. We were absolutely right, John kept the crowds entertained all day with his close up magic and witty humour. The kids loved him too, maybe too much as they followed him round like he was the pied piper! John has clearly dealt with hecklers in his time, as many members of the family thought they were funnier than he was, but they definitely weren't! He did lots of gentle put downs and his banter was top notch. We would strongly recommend hiring John to entertain at a wedding/christening/birthday/ new puppy party he was amazing and we are looking to make up some other excuses to hire him again once we've paid off the wedding bills. 10/10 More...

I recently booked John for my little boys christening and to be honest I didn’t really know what to expect, booking somebody who you have never met before based on reviews can sometimes be risky but I’m so glad I booked John ! Professional from start to finish, very very entertaining, mind blowing magic tricks & he had every guest laughing throughout his performances. John appeared from nowhere, we'd put an event on to unveil the images of our cultural heroes and publicised it. He got in touch and offered to do magic for the guests. I was so surprised that he'd chosen to help our cause. He was one of the best things that could have happened on the night. I just kept hearing the phrase "that guy just blew my mind". Everyone was really impressed and also found John very witty and entertaining. Lots of laughs and he was genuinely a really nice guy. John helped us with our event without us even asking. It was my 30th birthday and I'd organised a party in mine so I made some jelly and cheese on sticks and hired a magician. A few people were let downs then John turned up . How long have you been interested in magic?
Ever since I worked in a casino in Blackpool in 2000. I got taught some card cheating moves and sleights and, rather then enter the murky world of cheating, I decided to enter the even murkier world of close up magic!
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
You can expect lots of fun and interaction. I pride myself on using my comedy skills to interact with your guests and get them laughing. It's not just about the tricks - any magician can do tricks. You want your guests to have a great time and I can help with that!
What do you love most about your job?
The different interactions I share with people. No two groups are ever the same!
What inspired you to start your own business?
One of my favourite magicians, Tom Mullica. I could watch him for hours and it was never about the magic. He was just an awesomely funny magician.
