Just returned home from celebrating our 1st wedding Anniversary! We married here last year and the last two days have been amazing. Despite the location being perfect, the staff were fabulous as always. Attention to detail, looking after us, kind wishes etc. The level of service is 2nd to non but they went out of their way to make our anniversary so special. The hotel and grounds are fab. The staff are very friendly and helpful and speak good English however they probably speak it better than understanding it. Nonetheless they do a very good job of making you feel welcome. The rooms are adequate size very clean and tidied daily. The restaurant is good and the food is generally good every time we have visited previously but my wife’s lamb was very very undercooked this stay and an apology is all we got. Expected a chance to redeem themselves but nothing! Another thing we noticed this stay was the lack of bread been offered when you first sit down however it was offered later on. Not sure if they are just changing it up a little or cutting back but we always had a variety of breads to choose from. Dog friendly as always which is great and towels are provided for the furry things paws. The hotel at the minute is in transition for Christmas and is starting to take shape, the same lady putting up Christmas decorations here that we chatted with last year. She does a fab job. Nice Hotel in a great position on the lake accesable room was far to small for a wheelchair very disappointed with it and it was on the second floor another fault we could hardly get the Wheelchair in the tiny lift. We got married at the stunning Inn on the Lake on the 6th August 2019. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. I stayed for 3 nights and my husband for 2 nights. The wedding..... It was absolutely faultless thanks to the amazing wedding coordinator who was always one step ahead of us. It was perfect from start to finish. The food... What a meal!! I would say that it is easily the most delicious food that I have ever tasted. The service, waiters... They were so polite. Nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The room.. we were in a bridal suite overlooking Ullswater and the breathtaking scenery. It was extremely spacious, very clean and comfortable. The grounds... only one word needed.. Stunning. Reception staff.. Always extremely helpful and always on hand. Bar staff... Again very friendly, polite people. Housekeeping.. The rooms are spotless. All of the hard work that housekeeping do is extremely thorough. So all in all, we got our fairy tail wedding all thanks to ALL of the staff at the Inn on the Lake. I would love to write an essay but I think I’d run out of space! So I want to say THANK YOU SO MUCH to this amazing venue! I had a fantastic fun night before my wedding and an amazing day for my wedding! I felt at ease and the venue and food was just beyond wow!! The hotel rooms... beautiful, spacious and so comfortable! Afternoon Tea for 26....service was excellent from booking back in November which then consisted of several phone calls over the months re dietary requirements and sandwich selection . ..to the actual day where all the staff were friendly and very efficient. I’ve just had two great nights at The Inn on The Lake. Very friendly staff and great food. Was there for a reunion event and we all ate together on the first night with wonderful food in a private dining room. Ate in the Orangery on the second night. Again lovely food which was sensibly priced. Dog friendly too so I’ll taking our little friend there next time I stay. Two days of beautiful weather mad it even more special.
