What makes a great website?
These days, I think simple, very responsive and safely designed to work on the plethora of phones and devices that we contend with. Web 2.0 has come a full circle due to the number of platforms our viewers are using.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
Shall we meet or Skype? Do you have colours in mind? Do you have some examples of similar work that you like, and aspects of these that you would like to include in your design?
Describe your creative process.
Whatever suits the client. Ideally, an initial meeting (face-to-face or remote) where we can outline what is needed, throw some ideas/source material around, and straight into me/us sketching initial ideas, for me to then create a first set of drafts from.
What information do you need from a client before you can start work?
This depends on the job. As much information as the client can provide the better, however if they are a little unclear on how we should approach the project, then this is when an initial meeting will greatly help the client, as I can discuss with them, suggest options, and help them realise their vision.
What do you love most about your job?
Branding start-up companies. Treading these fresh pastures is a great area of design.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Working from home (sometimes) is good for the soul.
