What information do you need from a client before you start work?
1, It's always good to have an understanding of why you need the artwork - that can really help me get in the mindset of how I approach your project.
2, The specifications of the job (what format do your require: poster, logo, brochure, menu etc. and what size? If it's a booklet, how many pages do you need?)
3, Of course the content (text any imagery you would like me to use). I will always advise if I think the imagery will be unsuitable for your job - we both want it looking as great as it can be! It doesn't need to be the finished article at this point, but just so I know how much work might be involved.
4, If you already have a brand in place (or seen something that's inspired you), then please let me know. If possible, please supply any existing assets so I can keep the creative nice and consistent.
5, Finally, how soon do you need the artwork back.
What sorts of printing projects do you usually cater for?
I can accommodate most print-based projects, from large format and exhibition designs, to logos, business cards and re-brands. I have an excellent knowledge of print, so I can advise if I have any ideas that you may want to consider.
Describe your creative process.
I like to keep the process as simple and slick as possible. As long as I have the details I require, sit back and let me work my magic! If the project is going to be more than a couple of pages (i.e a brochure or booklet), I will mock-up the front cover and first two pages first. I will then ask you to agree the style before I carry on and continue the rest of the document.
Once I have the first draft complete, I will send this for you to review... this is the exciting bit! Once you've looked over the project, send me back your feedback (either by annotated pdf, word doc or email). I will then make the changes and send back your artwork for approval. The first round of amends are free (or up to an hour of design time).
Once you're happy with your artwork, I will then supply you with a high resolution pdf that's print-ready (or any other format you require).
