I have used Hometouch twice when my mother was hospitalized and Dad couldn’t be left alone. I work in this industry myself (abroad) and recognized they were doing whatever it took to get someone to my father as soon as possible. Both the girls that came ( Elizabeth and Gabby) were excellent and went above and beyond. They were experienced and caring and my parents loved them both. I would not hesitate to recommend Hometouch. The only issue that could arise is that there is a 2 week minimum for live in which I understand but not everyone needs that long. I think the cost is very appropriate for the service they provide. We used Hometouch to care for my mother in law for nearly a year . After a very bad first day , (which in fairness Hometouch sorted the issue very quickly ) We had a regular carer who came to understand my mother in laws needs , a regular cover was also found . We were very grateful to be able to care for her at home . I feel the fees were very similar to if she’d had to go to a care home . My 84 year old mother has very successfully been cared for in her own home by a lovely carer, for over a year now. The carer has got to know my mother well and has had a very positive impact on my mother’s mental health. When the carer has been on leave she has always been replaced successfully by another carer who is attuned to my mother’s needs through good communication with her long term carer and a very well managed and detailed care plan. Communication with Hometouch, from the family’s point of view, is consistently helpful and professional. I would very much recommend Hometouch. I was desperate for my Mum to remain at home when she developed early stages of Vascular dementia. It presented itself very quickly and nursing home care was the only option that I could initially think of but didn’t believe that that was right or necessary. Hometouch as an organisation have been very pleasant and professional to deal with and our Carer has become part of the family. It was not all plain sailing at first, my Mum became quite unsettled, especially as nighttime fell but with kindness and with our carer and I working together it all came good. My Mum lives a happy, comfortable safe and secure life at home with family and friends visiting and taking her out as before. I was recommended Hometouch by friends who had used their service and they were helpful and straight forward to use. I was trying to follow my Mum’s wishes to leave hospital after a mild stroke and social services were involved but were obviously not able to find staff to meet any of her needs. Hometouch found somebody suitable very quickly and my Mum was ecstatic to be home. We have been using Hometouch to look after our frail 94 year old mother 24/7 for the last 6 months. Every single carer has been conscientious, caring, gentle and thoughtful in all their dealings with mum and we are very impressed and feel safe in the knowledge that mum is being cared for at least as well as we would ourselves. Hometouch have been a god send for my mother and I. Following hospital discharge and a deterioration in my mum’s illness I spent hours searching the Internet for the most appropriate live-in care agency. I can safely say I did extensive research and relied heavily on these reviews. Since then mum has had Hometouch’s carer Liz in for approaching a month now and I can safely say she is perfect! Not only is she an angel and highly qualified to handle every situation thrown at her (and there have been many since discharge), but the agency themselves have been exceptional. From start to finish there has been clear and regular communication, support and transparency. Since starting with Hometouch my mum has never felt safer. With the care we received from Hometouch you truly get the personal relationship. Liz feels like an extension of the family, but with the utmost professionalism and experience. Fantastic carers and honest pricingI don't usually leave reviews but I wanted to write a note so that other people in my situation could be confident in picking Home Touch when choosing a carer service. It was late in the day when I rang Hometouch. I had been looking for a carer for a few weeks now with different agencies. Daniel answered the phone and took on board all my requirements . The whole system worked efficiently and speedily. Soon I was talking to a prospective carer who I immediately felt was the right person for live-in care for my 92 year old Mother. I have since been proved correct. Steph, a qualified community nurse, assessed both my Mum and her property and made excellent detailed care plans including all medications and time for them to be administered. Hometouch provide an excellent app on my mobile where I can see all the relevant notes written by Julia about how my Mother is doing. A very good care provider / needer matching platform that allows the Carer to retain a higher percentage of the payment than many other organisations. Provide a very good service when you have a good Account Manager such as Dan. Able to provide emergency profiles for consideration within 24 hours which is very reassuring. I have used Home Touch for about 12 months now. Originally as live in care for both my parents and now just for my mum. I chose them over other companies because I could choose the carers myself from a long list of people, so I could look for the right fit for our situation. I also like the fact that the carer gets to choose as well, so they are able to discuss the post directly with myself before agreeing to start. This helps make sure of a good fit. One of the main reasons was the fact that the carer receives most of the money for the work they do so are more likely to do a better job. All these things plus the back up of helpful office staff if there is an issue or I just need advice, means that my life is very much easier and less stressful and my mum is happy and well cared for. The idea of a live in carer is not widely known about in my area and councils seem to dislike the idea, but it enables my mum to stay at home where she knows where she is and so is able to keep that little bit of herself she still has. I have used Home Touch on three separate occasions now to help look after my mum in my home. She has dementia. I have found the booking system easy to use and the service is excellent. Each time i have had the lovely Claudia to help me: so nice to have one consistent person, although my mum wouldn't remember it is much easier for me. Claudia has been so gentle and patient and the occupational therapy she does with my mum mean that mum has a lovely holiday with me when she comes to stay. I found this young company on line whilst searching for replacements for our elderly relations current carers. Right from the off they were courteous, kind and understanding and helpful in our search for a new carer. One of our relatives has Altzeimers and his partner has mobility issues, both are well into their eighties but wish to remain in their own home with the aid of live-in care. HT searched for carer to match our relatives requirements and found a person they thought suitable in a very short space of time. They then arranged for me to speak to him and followed that up by another enquiry.Terms were agreed and they then made the appropriate arrangements for him to arrive in time to take over. It was a seamless transition taking the stress and anxiety away from our relatives. The carer arrived as scheduled and has now been working with them for a week. They are very pleased and with us would like to thank Home Touch for their efforts from the outset up until the present time. All the carers we had were great, and the staff on the end of the phone helpful, but the software was dreadful. For a long time it was impossible to get an accurate picture of what was being charged and all the days were wrong. I don't know if that was a staffing issue or a computer glitch but it was just awful. I have spent hours correcting things I was over charged for. I believe it's all now resolved and Sharon has been very helpful in this.Aside from that Remy and Mercy were great, I can't say anything about Anastasia as she vanished the day after she started .Overall, minus the finances / software it was good for my mum to have such good care. I have found the flexibility of Hometouch and the communication excellent. I had so many problems with care companies being totally inflexible and wanting to take over my mother's care completely, giving me very few options, so I'm delighted to have the freedom to choose the carers and type of care. It's also good that more money goes to the carers than it does with standard care companies. My only reservation is that the Hometouch team weren't able to find me carers when I needed someone quickly and I found the carers myself on the website but in general I'm very happy with my experience with Hometouch. I'm so happy I've found this company. A brilliant concept and from my experience one that works. Staff in the office are very helpful and guide you through the process. We found a wonderful carer who is perfect in every way. He is kind, thoughtful and caring. He's genuinely interested in my parents and really makes a difference. It's great that you can select your own carer but the staff can shortlist some for you if you require. It's reassuring to know that Hometouch have a rigorous process of vetting potential carers before they are put on their platform. The booking and payment process is simple but you can always call on the office to help. We also receive calls from Hometouch to check all is ok. Really happy with the service I've received so far with Home Touch. Easy to use website to search for carers and arrange contracts. Home Touch staff always on hand to help if needed. I'd been using Helping Hands agency to care for my mum for over a year but was let down at the last minute and was desperate to find a carer.I contacted as many agencies as I could find online and Joshua at Home Touch was the first to respond and had arranged two carers to alternate, within 48 hours, which was greatly appreciated and a huge relief. I've generally been happy with all the carers we've used through this agency, although a couple maybe didn't quite fit with my mum personality wise. Lindsey in the office was quick to resolve any issues though and really helped in finding other carers. Overall a great agency with a novel approach to home care. Highly recommended. More...

I booked a carer (now known in the family as 'Catherine the great') for my husband who has a rare dementia. She came regularly from mid 2015 until he was too difficult to manage at home and moved in to a care home full time in January 2017. I have found the website easy to use, when the original carer I selected wasn't available, Catherine was suggested and proved to be ideal. I first read about HomeTouch through an article in the Telegraph. At that stage I was not ready to hire a carer, but I filed the contact details away. Making the decision that you need help is the hardest decision but once you do make contact life becomes easy. I was particularly impressed that someone contacts you by email and by phone to help and provide some human contact within 24 hours. Reviewing the profiles of potential carers is very straightforward but hiring someone is a process and it is still helpful to meet potential carers before you hire. It's an interesting process because what I thought I wanted initially is not what I ended up with! My advice would be to stay flexible through the hiring process. Once you have found the right person the whole admin process is really straightforward. I would recommend Home Touch to anyone looking for help with a loved one. More...
