Lovely grounds and staff very helpful. Great facilities but about of a labyrinth in terms of getting around. Would have helped if given their map on check in maybe?

Me and my wife have just got back from our first stay here and we were not disappointed. The building and surroundings are breathtaking. The service from the reception to the restaurant was nothing but outstanding. Staff are polite and attentive. The food was perfect. The wine list fantastic. Spa facilities exceeded our expectations. I would like to make a suggestion for the future and that is to have an option for softer pillows. Some hotels have the firm pillows on the bed and softer pillows in the wardrobe so that you can take your pick. The pillows at Hoar Cross are very thick and very firm. I’m sure these would be heaven to some people but for me they were very uncomfortable and I didn’t get a wink of sleep. I resorted to trying to use my robe as a pillow. However in the grand scheme of things this is a minor issue and I cannot fault any other aspect of my stay. More...

4 stars It’s a good place but manage your expectations. There were a few hiccups and organisation wasn’t brilliant, but staff were amazing. They were polite, friendly and attentive, particularly Jess on the reception. The spa treatments were good. I had a facial and full body massage with Rosie B who was fantastic!! All in all it was a good break away. The hotel itself is immaculate and beautiful. There seem to be a few problems with infrastructure which was a little annoying. We didn’t have a phone in our room and the safe malfunctioned and wouldn’t give up my jewellery! I would come back but would expect it to be what it is. A comfortable stay in beautiful surroundings. My daughter and myself have just come back from Hoar Cross Hall for an overnight stay package. From the very beginning to the end it was outstanding. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent and spa was perfect. We felt so relaxed and you catered for our every need. Bedrooms were very clean. Changing rooms and other areas were also clean with everything you needed. Fresh towels etc. I would highly rate it and we are planning to go back again soon with my other daughter too. Just returned from our annual overnight stay at this lovely place. For the first time for a few years we paid full price rather than booking through Secret Escapes and we were given a room that had been updated which was a really treat; it was lovely. The food was much improved on previous visits and the staff were excellent. However, one of the two swimming pools was closed for the entirety of our stay as was one of the steam rooms. We were not made aware of this when booking in. This made the other pool busy and some areas overcrowded. Such a shame as we choose this wonderful location for the spa facilities. More...
