Had a double baby shower at Hitchin Priory Sunday 24th November. We had excellent service from friendly staff, who could not have been more helpful. I really enjoyed my stay at Hitchin Priory. It's a beautiful and fascinating , historic hotel and the staff are so friendly and helpful. ||The hotel is in such a superbly convenient spot for exploring the quaint little town of Hitchin but its residents can also take advantage of the stunningly gorgeous parkland in which it stands. Another real boon is the free parking for residents. ||My room was bright, elegant and spacious, yet at the same time, warm and comfortable enabling me to enjoy a peaceful, cosy night's sleep. ||The wifi was super fast. Thank you for that - it makes all the difference.||Breakfast was scrummy. The variety of foods on offer is impressive and i found the hot foods cooked to a tee. Succulent mushrooms and creamy scrambled eggs to name just 2 of what was on offer. Myself and my husband had our wedding at Hitchin Priory in May. ||The day went smoothly and the staff could not have done any more to make our day perfect for us. ||Sue; the wedding coordinator made sure everything ran well for us in conjunction with our toastmaster. Having previously had 2 other wedding coordinators she did not disappoint. She checked on us throughout the morning to ensure that we were OK and even brought us a bottle of Prosecco, juice, water and glasses for us to enjoy. ||Food, in house DJ, bar staff, wait staff were all excellent. Not certain of his name but there was a dark haired (European?) man who was very helpful and welcoming. He helped us to organise our speakers for the music in the ceremony and wedding breakfast. Also the lady who served at the meal helped us to sort our cake out the following day, by providing cake knives and loads of cling film.||Slight issue with the boiler not working the night before, but they were able to move my room to one in the separate part of the hotel and the boiler was fixed by the next day. This was good as we had a number of guests staying the night the evening of the wedding.||Luckily there was not a marquee wedding on on the same day, so we had the run of the place.||Overall we had a lovely day, and I would recommend completely. ||Yes some of the rooms could do with a makeover, but I believe this is in process at the moment! Stayed here for one night in a single room. Staff are very friendly and polite. The place has a rustic and good feel to it. The car park seems miles away particularly in rainy weather. Really ❤️ this house. Amazing location in the town, but set within its own 19 acres. Dinner was fabulous. Staff were SO Friendly. Price was excellent. Stayed in Priory Court, which was a more modern building. Feel that fire escape could be made into another entrance as very far to walk around building to our room. Rooms adequate, plumbing basic but works. Would really love to see the court re-carpeted and re-painted as rooms were actually clean, but just a little shabby. Have a special memory of sitting in the overflow dining room, surrounded by antique books at a private table looking over 19 acres of parkland WOW. Then walked round the 19 acres in the morning ☀️ felt like I had won the lottery. This is such an amazing historic house - I think I read this right - that DICKENS actually acted out characters from his books in the music room - how amazing for a company to hold a seminar in the very room WOW. Perfect for a wedding venue - with right accommodation. Loved the waterway with baby ducklings. Wish carpark was more open with better lighting. A good continental selection was provided for breakfast and the hot side had your basic staples. Both were enjoyable and provided a decent range for the morning. I was delighted to be able to check in early although I was charged for it,as I needed to get ready for a wedding it was important I checked in before 3 oclock. Thank you to the staff who made me and my friend very welcome for our stay last night. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. Our room was clean, spacious and comfortable .
