We've eaten at the Hetland Hall Hotel on a number of occasions in the past and every Christmas our family have a Christmas 'Family Get Together' and this was the first time we've booked this event at Hetland Hall and it won't be the last. We booked a table for sixteen adults and three children, on arrival we were shown to one of their private dining areas which was at the top end of their main restaurant, the room was fantastic and the table was laid out perfectly. We ordered off their 'Christmas Fayre' menu, the food and the service was first class, everyone said that they couldn't have asked for anything better, we will certainly look to book next years meal there. The Rad Group certainly know how to look after their guests, I would recommend all of their hotels as we've stayed in a number of them over the last two years and we've never been dissapointed at any of them. Had a lovely night away for a treat and it was lovely , staff were polite, very helpful and very professional , the room we stayed in (honeymoon suite) was amazing with nice views of the countryside and gardens and top notch interior , food was amazing and the breakfast more than enough to set us up for the journey home , I would really recommend this hotel , so much so myself and fiancé are looking at hetland as our wedding venue..highly recommend

Myself and ny husband are just back from an overnight stay at Hetland Hall. This was our first visit and it certainly won't be our last. Beautiful bedroom, very classy and a very comfortable bed. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant. The staff could not do enough for you and were very pleasant and friendly. The bar had a lovely open fire which was so cosy and comfortable. Breakfast was very good and the service was great. Would highly recommend Hetland Hall if you were looking to treat yourselves to a night or few nights away as for what you get for the price it is fantastic. My Son has just had his wedding at this fantastic venue, the hotel is a mixture of traditional & modern, the rooms are tastefully furnished/decorated & very clean, the function room, dinning room & bar area are the same, there are fantastic views across the solway (excellent for photos), the food is very good, all the staff are friendly, polite helpful & eager to make your visit as good as it could be (thanks Bryce), Natasha who helped my son & daughter in law plan there wedding was more than helpful & willing to go the extra mile to make a perfect day, the wedding went without a hitch, so a massive thanks to Natasha, every time I’ve been to this hotel I have been more than happy with, hence the glowing review well done to all & keep up your excellent work

Reception staff were friendly and professional and check in was efficient. ||The free upgraded room was truly beautiful. The bed was very comfortable and the linen was luxurious. The bathroom oozed luxury .... lovely white, fluffy towels, separate power shower and a deep bath. ||The hotel itself was beautifully decorated for a Christmas and there was a lovely log fire. ||The only slight disappointment was the breakfast .... the quality of produce used did not match the high standards found throughout this hotel. ||Would highly recommend this hotel. Hetland put on a wonderful show for Jo and David’s wedding at the end of September. Shauni, Jo’s wedding planner, was super helpful. We had a humanist ceremony in the long room with the picture window. The terrace was perfect for pictures and our wedding meal was outstanding as was the service. We hired a superb wedding band called Little Symphonies from Ayrshire who played great covers (check out their website) and also brought headphones for a silent disco. Stayed in the Eden suite, room superb with double spa bath. Hotel lovely and staff very friendly and helpful.Food in the evening was perfect and also reasonably priced. We enjoyed the spa bath with the TV in the bathroom. Didnt have house coats which was strange as possibly its part of the spa experience to slup into it after usinf a spa rather than wrap a towel round and sit and relax. We stayed here midweek on an overnight stay in the solway suite . It was a fantastic price for the dinner bed and breakfast deal . The suite was lovely very clean only little grumble was not enough milks in the room only enough for one coffee each and no bottle of complimentary water . In a suite I would expect that . We all loved our stay at Hetland Hall and we can’t wait to have a return visit. The hotel is beautiful and set in great surroundings. The suites are fabulous as is the restaurant and bar area and all very clean too. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and will stop and chat nothing is too much bother for them. We had DBB and food was all cooked to a very high standard and we all enjoyed the meals so much. ||||Also thanks to Bryce and the girls in the restaurant Sam and Sarah for your excellent customer service and chatting to us although we knew you were all very busy. ||||Thanks again Bryce for daring to make the Caribbean Stallion Cocktail lol I think that’s what it’s called Del Boy would have been proud. Stayed here for one night, a solo trip. Very easy to find and warm welcome upon arrival. Room was very large two king size beds, vanity area/desk, sofa and table plus huge walk in shower and large bath - loads of hot water! !! Plenty towels very fluffy! Two huge TVs but very limited channels would benefit from satellite. Room however was spotlessly clean and fresh, bedding white, comfy and warm! Ceiling had some staining which could be easily rectified. Restaurant very welcoming and food delicious but portion size quite small, food well cooked however and prompt service, water offered with meal and plenty of space between tables. Coffee wasn’t great in either the room or breakfast- I need a morning coffee beautiful surroundings plenty of parking!! Worth the money paid but some simple tweaks could make it 5* More...

With grandparents, parents, a 6 year old plus 9 month old twins it is not easy to find good accommodation but Hetland was great. The rooms were modern, clean and very comfortable with lots of space ||The staff were amazing, especially Sam who made our first meal so much easier for us so we could relax. She sorted the table out and nothing was too much trouble. ||Breakfast was excellent and freshly cooked. The food is really good.. the only thing that could be improved is the menu as we would have appreciated another fish dish as there was only salmon or fish and chips. ||All in all though they did a great job.... especially as they had a wedding on the Friday and another on the Saturday to manage. ||We all really appreciated our stay. Had a meal here last Sunday, I had the steak pie which was nice but the steak could have been more tender, my 3 companions had the steak dinner and said the same, the steak was not tender. We also had a sweet and had to ask for spoons, when the waiter brought them they were soup spoons and when pointed out to him he stated a spoon is a spoon, felt he was quite rude and spoiled our experience. The building is a lovely old building but the interior has been modernised and too sparkly and modern for my liking, it had lost its identity. on the whole we enjoyed our stay and i have to start with sayin the customer service is some of the best we’ve had. The staff are very friendly, smiley and helpful and when it came to our only slight problem (a cold starter with our evening meal) they couldn’t apologise enough replaced it with a freshly cooked hot replacement and a complimentary drink (large glass of wine) which easily resolved the situation mistakes happen anywere. We both enjoyed our evening meal and happily retired to the bar where again the bar staff were extremely friendly and even mixed me a cocktail that wasn’t on the cocktail list. We both had a great sleep due to the beds being extremely comfy in a well furnished and sparklingly clean room. The view wasnt up to much but they have to put the car park somewhere i supose lol. Breakfast was fine aswell service was on point also the man showing us to our seats was warm and smiley and asked us if everything was ok during eating which is exactly what you want in the morning. we both definitely enjoyed our stay although if we stay again we would probably ask to upgrade our room so we could enjoy the view. Hetland Hall, a country house set in 18 acres of grounds, near Dumfries, is currently undergoing a £2 million renovation. Our luxurious room was on the second floor but, although the lift only went to the first floor we were not offered assistance with our luggage . ||||We had drinks on the bar terrace overlooking the lush green lawns & later ate in the glitzy, Hollywood style restaurant.
