Hello, Doggie! strives to provide your canine loved one with a safe, active, and nurturing environment that promotes physical wellness, enrichment, and socialization.
The purpose of Hello, Doggie!'s daycare program is to provide a stimulating, fun, and safe environment for dogs. To ensure the safety and health of your pet and other cast members, we require all members and those auditioning to comply with the following:
- All dogs must be at least 8 weeks or older.
- All dogs must be spayed or neutered by 1 year of age.
- All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations and a clean fecal exam from within the last year. We require DHLPP (Distemper Combo), Rabies, and Bordetella.
- All dogs must be kept on a regular flea and tick control program.
- All dogs must be in good health. They must be free from any condition which could potentially jeopardize other canine cast members.
- All dogs must schedule and pass and audition to become a member of the Hello, Doggie! cast. Their Audition consists of a half day of daycare where they are acclimated to the facility, our staff, and the other dogs at their own pace. It is most important to us that new cast members ENJOY daycare! We will call and request pickup of any dog who shows signs of stress or fear—the last thing we want is for your dog to have a bad experience during their first exposure to daycare!
-Dogs that show strong signs of fear during their audition towards the staff, facility, or other dogs, will be asked to schedule a callback audition. This will allow us to help your dog acclimate to the facility and build trust with our staff at their own pace before attending daycare full time.
- All dogs must be scheduled in advance- even if it is through phone or email the morning of. Sooner is always better because we have a set capacity. Add-ons can only be accepted as space will allow.
- All dogs participate in rest periods during their time at daycare. We utilize crates as safe spaces for resting but we NEVER force a dog into a crate who is unsure or afraid. As long as the dog is relaxing during this time, the crate will not be necessary.
Dogs highly benefit from set routines! We have a standard enrichment schedule that we follow each day to ensure your dog's success and enjoyment of their time with us!
Here at Hello, Doggie we are determined to make your dog feel at home while you are away.
We believe all dogs should have 24/7 supervision and care--and that is exactly what we provide! We are currently the only daycare and boarding facility in Maine that has staff sleep overnight with your pups. Not just on site--in the same room, and (as long as your pup is a snuggler) in the same bed!
We set up one of our stages with dog beds, sofas, futons, couches, and, of course, some mattresses! This way your dog has plenty of comfortable and cozy sleeping options.
Cage-free does not mean your dog cannot sleep in a crate--in fact, if your dog is used to sleeping in a crate, we can always make them available as an option.
We do not have set potty times while your dog is boarding, which means even if your pup is 8 weeks or 16 years old, we will accommodate as many bathroom breaks as needed!
Our staff are trained to administer medications of any kind your dog may need during their stay.
You provide their food, any medications or supplements, and that's all they need! If your dog has a special blanket or bed, we can take that, too. (Any toys or chews can be provided but will only be made available to your dog during rest periods or requested 1-on-1 time. NO RAWHIDES OF ANY KIND ALLOWED IN THE FACILITY.
Before we can schedule your dog for any overnight stays, they must:
-Schedule and pass an Audition
-Stay for at least one Full Day of daycare before the desired boarding stay. In some cases, if the beginning of their stay is weeks or even months later than their audition and they are not a regular visitor to daycare, we will REQUIRE 2 or more Full Days of daycare before their stay.
It is most important to us that your dog ENJOYS their stay with us! Their Audition gives us a really great insight into their personality and allows them to meet us, other dogs, and explore the facility. However, this often isn't enough for new dogs to have a stress-free overnight stay. At least one Full Day of daycare gives your dog the opportunity to feel totally comfortable with us, the other dogs, and the facility. Also, most dogs show their true personality after they have come to daycare enough to feel confident and safe--therefore, we need the Full Days to ensure your dog will have a stress-free stay and also ensure that the other dogs at Hello, Doggie are safe with your new dog.

I work at Hello, Doggie Daycare and Shannon is an amazing boss and caretaker! I have worked at another kennel in Maine, and my experience at Hello, Doggie both as an employee and a dog lover has been incredible. She keeps all dogs safe, on site, and constantly under supervision! Even overnight! The dogs get to snuggle with Shannon and her pups so they feel right at home. Every personality is kept in mind, as a behavioral evaluation is done with every new dog! Safety and comfort is of the most importance!!! Plenty of space, love, pools, sprinklers, etc!!!! Love Hello, Doggie!! More...

These guys are the BEST and Bentley absolutely LOVES when he gets to go see his friends (dogs and humans) at Hello Doggie.
Amazing so far! My dog had his first day today and when I picked him up I was greeted with “how was your day?” Just such a warm and friendly place. Glad to know he had such a fun day. Highly recommend. More...
Hello Doggie is my sanity. Having an adolescent puppy is hard some days and I need a break. It's such a relief to have a place where he enjoys going so much. He is always eager to enter the building and to greet the staff. You can tell he has fun when he's there. At the end of the day he comes home calm and tired, which is exactly why I bring him. The staff is also fantastic to deal with. Can't say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend. More...

I worked for hello doggie 5 months and I saw things that I shouldn't have seen. This owner of a business takes her anger and frustration out on the animals and employees. Customers be worn what goes on behind closed doors. More...

Hands down best doggie daycare in the area. My pup had some extra energy issues that caused her to not be able to relax at home. We took her to see Shannon (who I've known for many years) and my pup loved daycare. She has ample to play and burn energy but also has activities to work her super strong mind. I am beyond impressed by this doggie daycare and would recommend it to others. Also, the 3 negative reviews are 100% fake. I know Shannon and the love and passion she has for caring for animals is something amazing. More...
Great daycare and a probably the most affordable around the area. Please ignore the bad reviews accusing Shannon of abuse. These are being done by the same person who was terminated by the business. Our dog is extremely sensitive and you cannot even raise your voice around him without him being submissive and he is never more excited than when I drop him off here. Best daycare I've ever brought my dogs to. More...
Hello Doggie! is a wonderful place to bring your dogs! I have three dogs, two are rescues, and the staff is amazing. Shannon really understands dogs and has helped our family with some problem behaviors. My rescue dogs both hate men, but they love Chris! Honestly, seeing my dogs so happy makes working during the day SO much easier. Thanks Hello, Doggie!! Keep up the awesome work!! More...
A great place for any dog to play! Shannon really cares for the dogs, and the clients too. My three dogs absolutely love it there and I always feel better knowing that they’ll be at a place with friendly and competent people looking after them.
I got my first dog a few weeks ago and knew I wanted to bring her to doggie daycare, and heard great things about Hello Doggie. I get sent videos and photos all the time from the owner, Shannon Oliver, of my happy little puppy playing with her new friends! The trainer there, Chris, has helped me with a lot of her behavioral issues and watching her develop is amazing. I truly recommend this as a place to bring your favorite four-legged pals! More...
Shannon Oliver runs this business with an extremely high standard of care. She is quick to correct the errors of her employees when their behavior puts the dogs at risk or sabotages their behavioral management. She truly shoulders the entire burden of the business at huge personal sacrifice and puts her dogs, the dogs of her clients, and her employees before herself. Exclusively. More...
A great place to bring dogs with an excellent staff. Keep up the great work
I can't say enough good things about Hello, Doggie! I never thought I'd find somewhere that could cater to both my lazy, shy rat terrier and my SO HYPER SHE CAN LICK THE CEILING doberman. They are physically and mentally stimulated, and most importantly well loved. Thank you to Shannon and the whole team. More...

The staff and owners of Hello, Doggie are the absolute best! My puppy has some mild behavioral issues (obsessive tail chasing) and they have worked with her to break the habit, and have been so patient and understanding. They truly love all of these dogs, and have such a passion for what they do. Couldn't recommend them enough! More...
Our Goldendoodle, Augie absolutely loves his visits to Hello Doggie. We recently had him groomed while he spent the day and the job done was fantastic while costing almost 1/2 of what the big pet store charges. So fortunate to have such a capable dog day care facility so close to home. Thanks! Kurt, Laura & Augie! More...
Pebbles was exhausted after just a half day. She was able to get her energy out! I can tell she loved it and the staff was super nice!
My dog had a fantastic first day here! Previous daycares have reported high levels of stress from barriers, but the staff here was very mindful of his separation anxiety and helped him feel at ease. It’s clear that the staff take the time and effort to get to know each and every dog and their unique needs. Shannon radiates love and positive energy for the dogs and her natural gift with animals shows with each interaction. The knowledge and skills of Shannon and the staff, combined with their enthusiasm for what they do, make Hello Doggie stand out from other facilities. I highly recommend sending your dog here More...
