We realise that everyone has different ideas of how they wish their special day to be, whether it is in a village church or a civil venue. Harmony Church is an independent spiritual church where you can legally get married at as we are a registered place of worship, and would describe ourselves as somewhere between a traditional religious church service and a register office ceremony.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of being able to get married at Harmony Church in September 2016, we were so so pleased we found you. Susan was so helpful from the very start of our chats and meetings to discuss our wedding. We had "exactly" the wedding we were looking for in the most beautiful and intimate location we could have hoped for. Our guests were truly blown away at the position of the church with the stunning views over the sea and Scarborough Castle. The beautiful Gardens for guests to mingle and chat before and after the wedding. We were able to offer our guests bubbly on arrival at the church, which they loved, and afterwards in the grounds to celebrate, just perfect. We chose our own music which was so personal to us and moving. Tony played our music for us, Susan gave the most beautiful ceremony and truly made our day both special and memorable. Our guests had never been to the church before and were astounded at just how perfect and intimate it was. We cannot thank Susan and Tony enough for our beautiful day, you really made our day perfect. We would recommend anyone getting married to look at Harmony Church, there really is no where quite like it. XX More...

An absolute gem of a place. We got married here December 2017 and couldn't have asked for anything more. Susan went out of her way to make our day absolutely perfect. What do you love most about your job?
Every wedding here is as unique as the bride and groom. We are more than happy to marry couples that have been previously married and so each wedding is different. Although we are a church, we take elements from ceremonial rooms to make it look really pretty, so the preparation of the chair covers and sashes, with the couple's chosen colour theme, are all part of the enjoyment of preparing for the special day.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We had registered our church as a place of worship in our private grounds, and shortly afterwards a friend asked to be married in the church, and that is when it all started. We have conducted many weddings since then.
Why should our clients choose you?
We are able to offer something between a formal traditional church wedding service and a register office ceremony, but always with the emphasis on the bride and groom's individual preferences wherever possible. We only conduct one wedding a day so there is no feeling that anyone is being rushed. We have stunning views overlooking the sea and Scarborough Castle from our extensive grounds, which are a perfect backdrop for those memorable photographs. Our church seats a maximum of 60 so is an intimate place for that special occasion. We have our own Registrar who deals with all the legal paperwork and issues the wedding certificate. We only offer the wedding service, but guests can take their time having their photographs taken in our grounds before departing for their chosen reception venue. Apart from the legal parts of the service, a couple may choose their own music, personal vows and readings. We have at least one or two rehearsals as required. We love weddings!
