It turned out my 7 year old wasn't quite ready to learn the guitar, but Mark worked hard with my son to create inventive classes, mixing learning and fun with a big dollop of patience.

I've had about eight lessons so far and my guitar is really coming along. Mark is a very prepared, friendly and patient tutor who keeps me on my toes with learning tasks which are nicely stretching and give me plenty to practice on my own. I'd highly recommend him to anyone wanting a good tutor in the area. More...

Mark has been providing guitar lessons to my two children (12 and 10yrs old) since the beginning of the year. They both really look forward to their lessons and I have been surprised at how enthusiastic they are about practising in between lessons. Mark is 100% reliable. He has a gentle and creative approach to working with children and young people. He tailors the lessons to meet their needs. Mark comes highly recommended! More...

I have been having lessons with Mark for a couple of months now. He has lots of patience. I am/was a beginner and he broke everything down in a way in which I understood which I have struggled with before. I am getting better and better as a player. From trying to learn by myself on previous occasions, I realise just how much these lessons have helped me to progress. Thanks Mark! More...

Q&As

I like my job most when my students can't wait to show me a song or piece of music they've have learnt by themselves since their last lesson and then giving constructive advice to them on how to improve.

It is a cliche but I want to be the master of my own destiny.

I believe I have a calm and patient attitude for teaching and always try to make learning the instrument and sight reading a fun, stimulating process.
