The food was amazing. Expertly prepared but a little slow to arrive. An extensive wine list but when I ordered a half bottle of a local Chardonnay, it took quite some time to arrive at my table and was at "cellar temperature" - appropriate for storing but not serving white wine. My server did not provide or offer to provide a chiller or bucket to keep the wine (or make the wine) chilled. The servers were friendly and polite but maybe didn't know what to do. Exceptional. This was our first time in Carmel and we absolutely adored this place. The server recommended a fabulous bottle of locally made wine, we had abalone for the first time (and got to keep the beautiful shell), and the dessert was absolutely amazing. I'm a pescatarian and there were awesome options that fit my preferences. The server recommended we grab drinks at a darling little mezcal place afterward and that was amazing as well. We've been coming to Grasing's for about 15 years. Never had a bad meal. Last night's was amazing. From the crab cakes to the scallops and the duck we just had a great experience. They are extremely accomodating outside on the patio for us with our golden retriever, Carmel. Brought her a bed, a few blankets for us, and turned on heat lamps. Grasing’s was a pleasant experience. We have spent the last 8 days between Napa and Carmel. Enjoying great wine, food and service.
We’ve spared no expense focused on making the most of our experience.
Even though Gracing’s was by far not the most expensive, we both left this evening agreeing that it was our best meal and experience of our trip.
Mark, our server was amazing. Attentive to our questions about the meal and our wine choices. The atmosphere was high end yet unpretentious.
I enjoyed the Paella and my wife the Scallops. The palella was perfect as was her scallop dish.
Nice job. Highly recommended.

I have dined in this establishment many times. I think it is the best restaurant in Carmel. The bar is very friendly and inviting (it's also our favorite spot to dine).
It's is a bit pricey, but the quality is unsurpassed!!!
Grasings has always exceeded my expectations. Next time your in try the Duck......nothing like it anywhere!!!

Nice, quaint spot to eat right in the middle of Carmel-by-the-Sea. While it's not located on Ocean Ave., it is one block up and definitely walking distance from shops and the beach. Usually fairly crowded, but never too bad of a wait. Food is good, not the best Carmel has to offer, however an excellent little lunch place. More...

The staff at Grasling's created a wonderful meal for us, and everything was spot on. The sommelier's pick was excellent. The big surprise was the bacon wrapped mission figs with blue cheese. The beautiful, perfectly prepared scallops were served over cheese ravioli, wild mushrooms, and bok choy, with an exquisite marsala sauce. I can't think of any place for improvement. I'll be coming back to further explore the work of Chef Grasling and his crew. More...
