Gloucestershire Drama Academy

Only two sessions and already I know I'm onto something that will make me feel more human, more real. I would recommend it to anyone who is interested in drama.

I have only been at GDA for 1 month and have enjoyed every session, learned great techniques and found a decrease in low mood. Chas's approach to teaching is a breath of fresh air, the work you do is at your own pace. You can take exams if you choose but there is no pressure. My 16 yr old has had 5 x 1-1 lessons with Chas and his confidence is coming on in leaps and bounds. He really knows how to encourage him without challenging the anxiety too much. I have just joined the academy. For someone who struggles with anxiety, this is a fantastic breath of fresh air. To keep it short and sweet, this place has done wonders for my confidence and sparking up my desire for acting, once again! Not only can you get experience in your acting abilities, but you can work towards qualifcations, directly with the friendly people of GDA and they can help you in finding acting work outside of the establishment. Chas Burns is easily one of the best drama and performance mentors I've ever had the pleasure of working with. I use the term mentor instead of teacher as I feel it's more appropriate. Chas has an amazing ability to bring out your true talent in your dramatic field rather than teaching you "the norm".
