Just arrived home from a lovely stay at the Gleddoch. Gorgeous views, lovely staff and the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. 10/10 sleep. Thank you to James for the complimentary cocktails for my birthday. F&B staff were faultless. Had use of the spa facilities and the only downside is we werent aware that after checkout (11am) if you wish to use the spa it’s £10pp. There is nowhere on the website that states this, on our booking email or no member of staff explained this during the stay apart from when we got to the spa. Spa was stunning; outside hot tub and hotbeds especially. One small niggle that should have been explained. Will return in the future. More...

We spent a night there, everything was perfect. ||Everybody was lovely, check in / check out were quick and easy (with a lovely attention when we left (snacks in a bag)). ||The room was amazing, incredible view, very clean and neat, very high quality matress, and we enjoyed the bathroom where everything is made to be easy and clean and comfortable. ||The breakfast was good, nothing incredible (except for the view, again) but there is a large choice of products and we appreciated that moment as well. ||As for the spa area, I have nothing to say, if amazing. We were lucky enough to enjoy the amenities all alone : quiet, relaxing, chic are the best words to desribe the experience. We spent a lovely night at Gleddoch last weekend. We have been here before, several times and keep coming back as the location stunning and the hotel always so welcoming. Staff at check in were lovely and very helpful. We got checked in very quickly. Guy from reception was very helpful and smiley, even after I managed to mess up the code on the safe twice and he had to come upstairs twice to unlock it. He did not seem to mind it (sorry again...). Rooms we got were both stunning, freshly decorated, clean and spacious. Bathroom was also very clean, with all the mini products and towels you expect. Bathrobes and slippers are complimentary.||||Spa was also stunning and very quiet what we really enjoyed. Saunas and Jacuzzi were very clean (I am a cleanfreak and dont use dirty jacuzzi - even I used the ones here), the spa manager checked the facilities several times during the evening and chatted to us.||||We had dinner in the VISTA restaurant and the food was excellent. I wrote a another review on the restaurant on its tripadvisor page. In a nutshell, they use high quality ingredients and everything is spotless, precisely designed and garnished on hot plates. Every bite was a fantastic experience, we had duck, lamb, chicken and seabass and various desserts. All of them outstanding. Great value.||||After dinner we headed to the whisky bar, where the bar manager's knowledge of whisky and gin was very impressive. He introduced various kinds, explained their origin and let us sample a couple to make sure we chose the right one for us. Every drink was made with care and close attention and I would not say the bar was expensive.||||Breakfast was ok, it was buffet. Great choice of all the full breakfast ingredients, cheese, ham, pastries and fruits. Loved the fresh home made bread and smoothies!||Everything was great, however, compared to the quality of dinner and the whisky bar, breakfast was not outstanding. The scrambled eggs were only warm and watery, and also the Italian ham looked a bit dry. This time we only got filter coffee, there was no option for a latte or cappuccino (although I would have been happy to pay extra). We struggled with the used plates, as the table was pretty small and there was not enough staff. However, the view from the restaurant over the icy golf course was stunning and not an everyday sight!||||We enjoyed the spa again, very quiet, no children, it was perfect.||After the spa we all got cute packages including some mineral water, fruit, crisps and biscuits to help recharge. They were all in sustainable paper packages.||||Overall, we had fantastic two days and we felt highly calm and relaxed when we left. We will be back, so good to have a place so close to Glasgow to offer escape from reality.||||The only thing I would like to mention as negative, is the quick turnaround of staff. We come back here at least once a year, and always find one or two really brilliant staff who go above and beyond, however, we dont seem to see the same faces again. I understand this is a fast paced industry, however, it might be worth for managers to pay a bit more attention and keep good staff. More...

Breakfast was good with lots of choice and the option of an additional menu for items cooked to order. Service was always swift and friendly. Just back from an overnight stay with my friend for our birthday treat. We paid £89 for one night in a twin room. Included robes and slippers, at the time i was unaware that any room booking cost comes with robes and slippers. So slightly disappointing. Breakfast was also included. |Upon arriving the reception were alright, o wouldn’t say overly friendly like other reviews have stated but they were nice. We went to our room which was room 14 on the ground floor. Shortly after arriving there was a knock at the door and we were given a plate of chocolates for our birthday which we thought was a nice touch. We got ready and went down to use the spa, was Amazing very relaxing and was fairly quiet which is never a bad thing although no one told us that if we wanted to use the outdoor hot tub all we had to do was lift the cover off. We only found this to be the case when we were back in our room looking out the window. I think for people that are not members and just visiting a heads up from the staff at the spa or a sign somewhere to advise guests. |We went down to the Nineteenth Bar for some food, we both got a burger which was reasonable at £7.95. We order 2 x large glasses of wine which cost 9.95 each, I’m not going to lie i did find this quite expensive. Overly expensive infact. So it was safe to say that was the only drink we had in the bar instead we went back to our room and popped open our prosecco . The breakfast was nice there was cereals, croissants, sausages bacon scrambled egg hash brown. Orange juice tea coffee. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would return. More...

I recently visited with 2 of my friends for a birthday celebration! On arrival to check in, we were advised by Callum (who was extremely friendly and welcoming) that we had been given a complimentary upgrade to the Arisaig Suite. The room was beautiful and very spacious, with views overlooking The Clyde! Callum also helped with our luggage up to the room. ||We made use of the spa facilities and enjoyed use of the indoor jacuzzi, pool and steam and sauna room. One of the selling points for this hotel was the outside jacuzzi. Unfortunately for us however, we did not get in this due to a group of women who were using it for their own ‘exclusive’ use. After an hour or so of patiently waiting we gave up! I appreciate that this cannot be manned constantly, however a polite notice advising that this is for everyone’s use would be a good idea. Staff turned a blind eye to the fact they were blatantly sitting drinking alcoholic cans whilst in the hot tub! Not good - in my opinion! ||The food was lovely, however the restaurant has something missing. There is no intimate or relaxed feeling about it. Perhaps some nice lighting would help with this? It felt like a canteen at times. The food at breakfast was nice too - but the serving area was just so disorganised and untidy! We asked for clean gasses and were basically told to go and get them from the bar area ourselves. I noticed one young boy who was determined to give good customer service, the others couldn’t care less however! ||The gin and whiskey bar is a great asset to the hotel, and so is the bar tender! His knowledge of the drinks he is serving is amazing, and we enjoyed the drinks he made for us based on our favourite flavours! ||All in all, we enjoyed our stay! The customer service from staff needs to be a bit more consistent as it ranges from excellent to extremely poor. I would return, however I would be expecting access to the outdoor jacuzzi this time! | More...

We stayed last night for our anniversary, we bought the 5pm deal which is an overnight stay, spa facilities, 3 course dinner with Prosecco and breakfast. ||Check is was easy and all staff are pleasant, they go out of their way to help you and all are chatty. Thanks a lot to the girl who went and got me a key for the locker at the spa pool when I had forgotten to collect it, I didn’t have to ask for help, she just offered, I was a bit flustered cause I couldn’t find my boyfriend, little things like that are remembered :) ||The room was clean and the bed was comfy. We were in room 20, unfortunately there is some|kind of problem with the shower drain or toilet because the smell in the room wasn’t great when we arrived, the smell stayed for the whole time but I guess we got used to it as we ever only noticed when we had left the room and come back. ||The spa was chilled, clean, not too busy. The pool is heated. Unfortunately the outdoor hot tub was shut most of our visit.||Dinner at Vista was tasty. We got a little complimentary snapper fish amuse bouche, a cream cheese salmon pot to start, chicken and veg with potato for mains and sticky toffee pudding for dessert. The food was delicious. I found the portion sizes of the mains be a little on the small side, but I know some people do prefer that, and as they are going for the kind of fancy food menu, dishes do tend to be smaller. ||Not sure what happened to my chair, but the back support was all wet toward the bottom, left my trousers wet, not sure if the chair had been cleaned before diners came in. || Our waiter Farouk was pleasant and very helpful. We did find the dining experience a little too rushed, every dish was brought out immediately after the other, we arrived at 7pm and we had picked our dishes, picked a wine, and finished eating by 7.30pm. The other diners were in and out fast too. We stayed a little longer to finish our drinks then headed to the bar called Nineteenth. The bar was very, very, quiet, quite brightly lit at night time, some quiet background music playing but it was classical hotel reception background music, it wasn’t really our kind of relaxed place to chill but we didn’t want to head back to the room at 7.45 so we stayed for an hour or so. People later commented that the Nineteenth bar could be so much better, it’s a great space, dim the lights a little, have some mixed age music playing in the evenings, maybe someone singing or playing guitar at the weekends? Change over the tv channels. The 5pm deal seems to attract 20s and 30s couples to the hotel so it would be nice to make it a bit more attractive to that type, even 60s and 70s couples, friends or people on business, Everyone likes a bit of music and a chilled atmosphere in a bar. I’ve never seen a bar so quiet. There were just 2 other couples in there when we left. ||However, we then headed to the small Dram bar, where we met a really great barman, sorry I forgot his name (again!) But he made our night, he was very knowledgeable about whiskey and gin, funny, sociable, a gab, and it was more our kind of atmosphere. You can tell that the guests warm to him and feel more relaxed in that bar, he is an asset to the industry and hotel and definitely deserves some kind of bonus for going above and beyond in his drink recommendation skills, banter and patient manner. We sat at up at the bar chatting to a couple of polish guys and an English couple and ended up having a great laugh, just the 6 of us in the bar until 2am with group polish vodka shots, whiskey chat and teaching them all Scottish slang. A night to remember. ||Unfortunately we didn’t make our breakfast or spa the next day because we were so hungover haha. ||Overall we had a nice time and we will be back at some point. || More...
