Our stay for one night at The Curtain was excellent ! It was my birthday and we had a cake made which was delicious, Prosecco was provided and a balloon arrangement in the room made our stay so nice and welcoming. Would highly recommend!

I booked a room through Hotel Tonight for a very good rate. I was a bit worried that the hotel would be noisy as it’s so central and has several bars, so I asked for a quiet room. The room was very comfortable and spacious and very quiet which was great as I’m a light sleeper. The bed was big and really comfortable and I slept well. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The venue was great, perfect for the event we hosted and the staff and service were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble. It was our first stay at the Curtain Hotel and it was excellent!! I received an email with a special offer price which is why I booked it. We usually stay at the Hoxton just down the road which we also love. The communication from the reservation team was great and they also booked a table for us at the Red Rooster for brunch which was outstanding, especially the House Gospel Choir!! Booked the Halfeti Christmas 2 for 1 for £35 which is only available Thursdays and Sundays. Really liked the Green room and it’s decor and the lovely scent. Our afternoon tea was yummy apart from the oddly spiced chocolate tart (maybe just my tastebuds) and was very filling. Fabulous hotel. Stunning interiors. Great bars, small heated pool and spa. Would have loved to stay longer.||||Staff are very nice who are from all corners of the globe. That can have its downside when asking for things to be done!! However, when asked they will see to your needs promptly, even if they send three people to do the same thing 10 mins after each other!!||||Rooms are very Parisian in size with fabulous bathrooms and an amazing steam shower. ||||I would truly recommend a stay here with a must do visit to the Red Lobster for their Gospel Brunch!! Styish and very comfortable. Well located for a night out in the heart of Shoreditch. Rooftop pool is very cool. Shame we didn't get to use it as it closed at 10 despite reception telling us it was open until midnight. 3 bars open into the early hours. We hung out in Billy's bar in the basement. Overall we were happy with our 4 night stay. The room was ready early, which was much appreciated after our overnight flight. |The room was as expected and we were pleasantly surprised by the warm bathroom floors. |My only negative feedback was that our room, located directly above the street level restaurant, was very loud during the late night/early morning hours with revelers smoking and chatting well past 3:00 am. Not sure how to solve for that aside from asking people to keep it to a low hum. |Also it was a bit of a challenge to find a taxi one morning, would have been helpful to be given another option than “walk that way to the busy street” - but I guess that is the on-demand car world we are al expected to live in. Great service at reception upon check in. The room was lovely, stylish and clean. There was a busy cocktail bar and restaurant but we were not disturbed by this at all once in our room. Breakfast also very good.

Really enjoyed my stay here, I would definitely recommend this hotel. However I would avoid the first floor over the clear roof to a pub/club/restaurant. I was awake most of the night listening to people below. I stayed here for 4 nights and it happened most 2 out of 4. I was already tucked away in bed so did not request to move. I've attached pictures.||||The rooms are small but very beautiful. I love the funky decor. The reception smells gorgeous when you arrive. Nicest smelling hotel I have ever stayed at.||||We had breakfast in the rooftop Lido and it really was stunning, quite a pricey breakfast but they did have vegetarian sausages so I was sold!||||Not too keen on shared toilets but that's just a personal preference, they were in the bar and the lower ground of the hotel.||||Receptions staff were very friendly. My room was ready on arrival earlier than check in, maybe by an hour so that was great.||||Over all it was a good hotel. More...

My partner and I booked the hotel as a special treat for ourselves ( not cheap!!). We had booked tickets to watch an artist perform in the attached club that evening. On arrival.... the check in was quite long winded , mostly due to the non fluent English of the front desk staff. We were asked to pay and extra £50 on arrival for items that we ‘may’ have from the mini bar. This was unexpected and usually you pay on leaving. We also had to ask which facilities were available to us as guests . We asked where the artist would be performing and how to get there - none of the staff knew who we were asking about ... |The room ... as boutique as you can get and quite happy with it . Clean, quiet and an incredibly comfy bed - had a brilliant sleep! ||There were a few annoying issues ... the only full view mirror was on the inside of the wardrobe and was grid opaque so pretty useless. Also, fabulous shower but I couldn’t open the door once finished - even after a few shoulder barges, I had to shout for my partner to come and get me out. The door was stuck ! Imagine being on your own! I told reception on check out. |The mini bar prices were ridiculous.|Complimentary water arrived at 6pm - 3 hours after check in.|The bar .... the worst service we have experienced for a long time. No acknowledgement of waiting , around 4/5 different people working but ignoring us.|We had to ask for a menu , we had to ask twice to be served . We were charged the wrong amount twice ( oh don’t forget the service charge!). Nobody in that bar appeared to be in charge and it showed. |After our event, we sat back in the bar .. we were told on entering that the bar closes at 11.30...it was 11. We ordered cocktails and tried to enjoy them while staff hovered around us tidying up and even removed the flowers from our table while we were sitting there .... a huge hint for us to hurry so they could finish. |A lesson in staying person and service focused wouldn’t go amiss. ||I just don’t see how this hotel is 5star? What makes it so? It’s just missing something and we felt it was sincerity and service from staff. | More...

Lovely hotel. Quirky features. Interesting design and art. Great service - quick, friendly. Lovely scent around the hotel and good quality bathroom soaps / shampoos (many hotels have cheaper products which smell like washing up liquid! ). I stay in London a lot for business and this hotel stood out for me. It's different - a break from the norm. It's comfortable, with all the amenities you'd need and great décor. I was in town for business and we partnered with The Curtain to host a 2-day event onsite. I'm based in NYC so all of the planning was done from afar. They were absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. Dipika and team made the planning & execution a breeze and the on-site staff was warm, welcoming & incredibly accommodating. Quiet, clean and spacious compared to many tiny London hotels - this one has room for a couch and a table. Big luxurious bathroom with a heated floor area. Mini bar is fun and fancy but is expensive and takes up space as a beautiful decor to look at. What a fantastic hotel! We enjoyed every minute of our two stays. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the steam shower. Location is perfect. The room service food was delicious and though we didn't partake of the in-room cocktail bar, it was a fun and lovely touch. ||||But the best thing about this hotel? The staff. Everybody -- and I mean everybody -- was so kind and helpful. Well done! I have to especially compliment Nellie in the Lido bar, and Dominic, Francesco and Samantha Billy's Bar.
