Beautiful hotel. Lovely rooms great to get an upgrade. Lovely spa area but outdoor pool needs to be warmer to enjoy. Was disappointed about dinner menu very limited choice. Staff were lovely though. The massage however was the best I've ever had.

Recently had a “girly gathering” for a special occasion. I felt like the welcome was poor, the whole day and treatment schedule was very unorganised. As part of the package we received 75 minutes of treatment and had picked what we wanted from the provided brochures prior to arriving and were told we could book them on the day. On arrival we were given half a list of treatments that didn’t include the ones we wanted. In the end I got one of the ones I had originally wanted but still had 15 minutes spare. I wanted to have one of the “ads ons” of a neck and shoulder massage. However the therapist gave me a mini facial in the middle of my treatment and I was told that that was my extra 15 minutes even though I had never asked for or mentioned wanting a facial! Overall very disappointing and the place was too busy! Perhaps don’t book as many people in on the same day? The lunch was very tasty though and the treatment was good. Won’t return for another spa day.

Very special. Delightful atmosphere. Warm outdoor pool. Very attentive staff. Natural, understated hospitality. A joy.

Visited the Spa on Tuesday 15th May. The staff were helpful & friendly... But I found the facilities average.... This is the constructive feedback.... Robe in poor condition... Flip flop front came apart while walking down from cold tub!!! Steam room not working correctly... Then floods from shower use... Not very hygienic... Poor lighting... Towels clean but old. Small changing facilities... The hotel in general didn't seem to have its same feel about it... So gone from previously highly recommending... To???

The facility's were excellent but the massage I had was not good. I asked for I relaxing massage and got the brutality one I have ever had and was in pain for days later . A relaxing massage should one you can drift off to not be wishing it was over 5mins into it. Maybe need to do more training .

Called in for lunch in the lounge bar while visiting Helmsley. The menu is small but the food is very nice although if is on the expensive side.

The lounge is a cosy pleasant place to sit andbthe staff were all very good if a little formal for my liking but that's a personal preference.

Had a little wander around the building and the spa including the outdoor pool area looked lovely with steam rising from the pool on a cold rainy day. Looked very inviting!

The hotel is absolutely fantastic, the staff were friendly and very accommodating! Rooms were spacious, very clean and beautifully decorated. The spa, although small, is very well equipped and laid out extremely well. We had an evening meal, drinks and breakfast at the hotel and I would class the experience as, relaxing, attentive and some of the best food I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. I will be returning again very soon.

Lovely indoors but outside needs some TLC. The staff were excellent and my back massage was 5*. We were shown into the spa but not told what to do and it's so dark you can't read the signs. Jacuzzi didn't work and buttons missing to turn it on plus no signage to explain. I did mention it to I think a grounds man who answered with don't blame me and an explanation on how it worked! Robes for the day guests have seen better days.
Cake and prosecco which were in our deal were lovely but I'm glad I wasn't hungry, my choice would have been a burger served with a couple of French fries for. . . .£18!!!. Eat elsewhere, there's loads of nice pubs/cafes etc near by.

Worked here with my jazz bands several times. Never heard a bad word from a customer and we have always been well poked after too. Looking forward to being back there soon!

I've been visiting the Feversham Arms for several years. This was the best visit yet for food. A fabulous 6 course tasting menu, as good as anything from a Michelin starred restaurant I've visited. The service was friendly but could have done with tweaking a little in terms of slickness. The newly renovated Spa was nice and tidy too. We had a suite for the night which was slightly overkill but well appointed with two TVs , a large bathroom and plenty of space. A great stay in the lovely village of Helmsley.

We stayed at the FA on Saturday 18th November as a birthday present, the service in the restaurant was appalling, staff appear badly trained, rude and in need of training, it took so long to receive food between courses. We were told a 2* Mitchelin Chef is settling in, we think the FA are embarrassed at the Black Swans success, which is why they have hired a new chef. Perhaps they should focus on providing excellent service to their guests. We ordered breakfast in our room, they had run out of fruit compote and couldn't make a smoothie, they also transferred food from the kitchen, uncovered, including the hot food, we were in a room next to the outside pool, guess what, apart from the hygiene associated with uncovered food, it was not hot when it arrived. Food poor, menu average, service appalling. We will never return to stay at this hotel. On a scale of 1 to 10 for quality and service, they deserve 1. Let's hope they get their act together, other guests in the restaurant experienced the same quality. That's a lot of negative feed back heading in to the market, as anyone ever told the owners the impact of one customers disappointment, is communicated to many many potential customers. Let's hope the chef settles in soon before more damage is done.

Stayed over night at the hotel and visited the restaurant and spa. The hotel is really nice with large rooms which are very clean and well presented, as you would expect. The restaurant is very good but small so bookings are recommended. We had the tasting menu which was good and the staff were very attentive and helpful. Again the spa is small but has everything you need, even an outdoor (heated) pool if you are feeling brave.
