I’m David Millward, an experienced genealogist based in Cheshire. I’ve spent over 10 years helping people to trace their ancestors.

I’m passionate about genealogy and have been researching my own family tree for over 15 years, uncovering over 1,200 people and going back to 1718 in Benton, Northumberland. Over that time, I’ve learned the skills of research and how to avoid the usual red herrings. Family Tree Genie is now a family venture – my wife, Clare, takes an active part in the research.

To help you create your own family tree, I can provide a number of options for family tree research.

All you have to do is tell me what you know about your family [tell me if you have any certificates of birth, marriage or death] and I will determine how feasible research into your line(s) would be.

Then I will quote a guaranted maximum price for my work - if I can not get back to at least 1800, I will reduce the research charge pro-rata.

Rest assured, I offer a personal and bespoke service to help unlock the secrets of your ancestors.

Once research is complete, you will receive all the data on CD or via Dropbox. Additionally, I can supply a full report in paperback book and printed family tree charts.

Please note, I don’t just carry out family research in Cheshire, I am able to trace your family history no matter where you’re based, that’s whether you’re elsewhere in the UK – Lancashire, Greater Manchester, Derbyshire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, Yorkshire, Shropshire, West Midlands, East Midlands – or based in the USA or Australia.
