Kitchen Installation & Remodelling

Could not fault ETS for their response to come out and quote for the fitting of my new kitchen. Came out the same day to review and quote. I was given the choice for a day rate or a rate to complete the job. I accepted the quote to complete the job and they started work the following day.
My kitchen walls are not ideal and they were out more than expected, but this was not checked when quoting.
I was advised the job would take between 3 to 5 days to complete, which sounded right to me, but I'm no expert. What I wasn't informed was the fitters would be pulled off the job numerous times throughout the week to go on other call outs. Which meant the job overrun.
The fitters although the work ethic was second to none were not professional kitchen fitters but mainly electricians. Throughout the job several errors were made, which lead to me having to purchase another kitchen drawer front and cornice. The fitter offered to pay for drawer front which I accepted. The cornice was due to the design not being followed. I also had issues where a door I ordered was the incorrect size and the dishwasher fitting kit was incorrect. Not ETS fault at all, but it did mean a delay and the job could not be finished in one. On the 6th day which was to be finishing touches only and only take about 4 hours, 8 hours later it was still not finished. At this time both myself and the fitters were both stressed and they called it a day and they would come back when I had the final bits to finish the job.
Upon inspection of the work that had been completed I found that plaster debris had been left in all the cupboards where the wall had to be chiselled, cut outs for sockets in the rear of the cupboards were left with jagged edges and not finished off, the integral microwave had been fitted incorrectly and I had a leak under my sink to name a few issues.
As the kitchen was difficult to fit and the fitter being called to other jobs he felt under pressure to get the job finished.
The owner of the company contacted me to pay for the job, during the conversation I asked him to call around to see what had been done before I paid anything. Both him and the fitter came to see what my issues were.
They both acknowledged my observations and it was agreed that the fitter would come back to rectify the issues.
As promised the fitter turned up the next day and did fix some of the issues, but this was at 4pm. After several hours it was agreed that all the other jobs could be completed when my replacement door and fitting kit arrived.
The owner of the company then contacted me again for full payment. He assured me that if I paid the invoice the job would be completed. In stupidity I paid the full amount, oh how you learn.

When my replacement parts arrived I contacted the owner on the Monday to let him know it was ok for them to come back and finish the job. I was told he would let the fitter know and he would confirm on Tuesday when the fitter would be available. Tuesday nothing, Wednesday nothing. I called and texted to find out when and advised I would not be in after 4pm on Friday in case they decided to call over the weekend. Friday at 4.30pm without any notice the fitters called to finish the job. As I had previously advised it was not convenient as I was going away for the weekend. The fitter was more than understanding and he advised he to was on holiday the following week, but the owner would arrange for the job to be finished.
I contacted the owner on the Monday to see when someone was coming to finish the job, but I was advised there was no one available and I would have to wait for the original fitter to return from his holidays. In addition there would now be an additional charge as in his words 'they have spent way too much time on it already'. I pointed out to him that I selected to pay for the job as a total price and not the day rate. After several heated texts he agreed someone would be round to complete the job, but I may have to wait. I agreed I was happy to wait 2 weeks. Throughout the 2 weeks waiting I tried to contact ETS several times to see when someone would come and complete the job but all my messages were ignored. I have ended up arranging for another fitter to come and finish my kitchen off at an additional cost to myself.
Overall the standard of the fitting in the end was acceptable if only I could of got them to come back and finish the job.
As a company they seem very eager to get your work, but once started new jobs get priority over yours. Expert Trades Services, I'm sorry I have to disagree the 'Experts'.
Learn from my lessons don't pay them a penny until your job is finished.
