ES Precision offers a subcontract laser marking, laser engraving and laser etching service to businesses. Our lasers can also cut and drill thin materials (thinner than 0.5 mm) with great precision.
We have 8 laser workstations comprising 5 different laser technologies and can tackle marking customer components or finished goods made from metals, plastics, ceramics and coated materials.

What do you love most about your job?
We love the variety of laser projects that come through our door every week. One day we could be testing out decorative etching of 500 hip flasks and the next we could be developing a hole drill pattern to make liners more comfortable for amputees to wear.
We've created laser marked tracking labels that can withstand high temperatures and outside weathering and engraved decorative graphics onto chopping boards for high-end kitchen manufacturers.
It's the range of different tasks that our customers task us with solving by laser that keeps things interesting.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We all (the current 7 employees) worked for a huge global laser company. Such roles have benefits but smaller businesses are often more dynamic to work for. When the company sought to rationalise its UK companies we couldn't bear to see all the expertise at the Oxford office just dissipate - not to mention letting down all their customers if the business just closed.
The current directors bought the assets, kept the customers and were able to employ 5 of the staff who would otherwise be made redundant. Win-win for staff and customers.
18 months on and we're profitable and investing in new, exciting equipment like our latest UV laser marker and a CNC milling machine to add machining services to our laser services.
