Counselling

I had weekly sessions with Emma for just over 6 months.
Emma has a very understanding and empathetic approach, she is a fantastic listener who gives well thought out and knowledgeable advice. Her open-mindedness made me feel completely at ease from my first session. I would definitely return in the future if I felt I needed to - I can’t recommend her enough. More...

Q&As

I enjoy providing caring support and helping people find a way to ease their emotional distress.

I became increasingly aware of the growing levels of stress, anxiety, depression and isolation in our communities and became interested in helping people find a path to happiness and wellbeing.

Core Process Psychotherapy is compassionate in nature and offers a safe, non-judgemental space to explore deeply held emotions that may be distressing. It can help to start a healing process and increase self-knowledge and happiness.

My training and qualifications include:
- Post Qualification MA in Core Process Psychotherapy, Karuna Institute.
- BSc (hons) Psychology and Health Sciences (2:1), University of the West of England
- Online and telephone counselling training, Counselling Tutor
- Workshop training: Working with Anger, Grief and Loss, Fear and Anxiety, and Pre and Perinatal Psychology
- Local Education Authority training in: attachment disorders, neglect, abuse, radicalisation, autism, ADHD and dyslexia.

Yes, I have completed training in online and telephone therapy. I elected to use Zoom as my online platform as it is recommended by experts in the field of online counselling and has end to end encryption.

I offer online, telephone and face-to-face therapy, following government safety guidelines for Covid-19. I ask clients to read and sign a Covid-19 risk assessment with clear guidelines for safe contact during our work.

The rooms I work at in Chippenham and Bath have hand sanitation stations near the entrance/exit and masks are worn in public spaces. They are large, airy and well ventilated and I sit over 2 metres apart from my clients. I clean the room thoroughly between sessions.

Services

Core Process Psychotherapy is a mindfulness-based style of talk therapy. It provides an opportunity to explore your mind (thoughts), behaviour, feelings and sensations that are associated with your everyday experience. It can help to process difficult emotions, reflect and understand our reactions to others and situations, and let go of ideas or fears that prevent us from living a full and happy life.

I offer a free 30 minute introductory session online, where we can discuss meeting face-to-face in Chippenham or Bath, online via Zoom, or by telephone.
