With many years of experience both in the kitchen cooking and at the table eating we have come to understand the importance of one in relation to the other. Our aim in the kitchen, as always, is to deliver great pleasure in the dining room – and at Elystan Street we aim to achieve this through serving pure, seasonal, ingredient led, gimmick free dishes which are full of vitality and flavour.

Lovely little place with lots of natural light! We came here for Christmas set lunch as we had heard about the chef and one Michelin Star - the food was great but nothing too innovative or particularly memorable. Special shout out as I loved the Christmas pudding! Nice touch was that they allowed babies plus they gave complimentary chocolate truffles as it was my birthday, which we really appreciated. £30 lunch? Michelin Star? Yeah, go on then.Ok, so with wine, cocktails and a dessert supplement (I REALY wanted that chocolate bar) it set us back a bit more than £30 each, BUT, from start to finish it was a real treat. A nice welcome from front of house, leading us into a beautifully designed room really set the tone, the waiting staff were great, friendly and helpful, with good knowledge of the food and drink too.I started with the smoked mackerel veloute which was like being punched in the face with flavour, and was by far the most memorable dish for me, it was absolutely perfect and has stayed with me for a few weeks now. 10/10 I followed with the salmon and crushed potatoes, which was light and delicious, finishing with a dessert from the a la carte (Chocolate, peanut and caramel bar with hazelnut ice cream) which was insane; rich, exuberant, heavenly.The wine was excellent, and they had plenty of half bottles, which just what you want at lunch time.All in all, we had a great time, shame it wasnt full as it really deserved to be. This is a special place. There are so many restaurants in London but very few have the ability to leave you breathless when you have your first mouthful of a plate of food. A ability that has been overlooked in by so many chefs over the last 10 years. Phil has had a special talent for this that has made him stand out from the crowd for the last 20+ years.
