I have stayed here several times and found it to be very nice. The accommodations are comfortable and clean and the food - the food is out of this world GREAT!
It is the best place to stay in the region. Motorcyclists, ATV riders, railroad enthusiatists, history buffs, fly fishermen, and FOODIES will find this the perfect place to stay.
I recently returned for their Mark Twain Weekend. It was wonderful. The meals were all based on Mark Twain's writings about foods he enjoyed. "Mark Twain" was there the entire weekend speaking and reading and making it an event worth going to. Looking forward to the next one that I understand is coming soon.

What do you love most about your job?
Our guests! Our guests come from across the USA as well as overseas, and many have become our personal and close friends!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Dan and Elisse Clark saved the last historic building to survive the 2002 floods in this area, and opened their new home as the Elkhorn Inn in 2003 to provide needed lodging, fine dining, and tourism services in McDowell County. Dan Clark was awarded the Coal Heritage Trail Preservation Award for his restoration, and the Inn won the 2017 SCORE Business Championship Award for West Virginia.
