Q&As

I most enjoy supporting my clients to explore, discover themselves and to grow.

My motivation is that everyone can feel better about themselves. We all, in times of challenge, have self-doubt or lack of self-belief. When we are progressing and being creative we will often feel uncomfortable or fearful. If we are pushing forward we will always be out of our comfort zone. That is the place of creativity and innovation. Most of us wait to have the confidence to take action but actually it is the taking action which gives us the confidence. We can then move forward to repeat the action with confidence or to go on to achieve more.

My heart sings when a client returns after a session and tells me that they have discovered a new way of being, that they have a better understanding of themselves or that they have made a connection which they could not have identified before. I love it when I see clients feeling good about themselves and going out into the world with confidence and high self esteem.

It is my aim to teach self-acceptance and to build an understanding of self. Virginia Satir said that loving someone was teaching them who you are. In order to love yourself you have to know who you are, accept what you want to change and have the courage to work through fear to change it.

I love the voyage of self-discovery and I love assisting clients on their journey.

I want to make a difference. I am passionate about supporting people to feel better about themselves.

Whilst I trained in kinesiology and took the first year of my counselling training, I was working in a senior position for a major City based financial organisation. I was stressed, tired and suffering from severe eczema on my hands. I was unable to turn the page of a magazine, wash my hair without gloves or shake hands. Getting money out of my purse was extremely painful and I felt shameful when people looked at my hands. My hands itched all the time. Only the pain after I scratched them gave me any relief from the irritation. The only way I could get to sleep was to hold an ice pack, wrapped in a cloth, between my hands. Once the pack warmed up I would be woken by the itching again. I was miserable.

Through my training in kinesiology and working with my therapist, I realised that I needed to leave my stressful job and do something which was more in line with who I was as a person. To become a therapist. I have always been passionate about helping people and felt I had the experience in skin issues to be able to do that. I changed my diet and handed in my notice. Within a month my hands were eczema free. I have been eczema free since then.

I started my Practice because I wanted to share my knowledge about my skin issues and how to heal eczema. I had found a way to become eczema free and I was passionate about sharing it. I worked with children mostly. I had eczema as a child and had suffered for many years before finding my way to be eczema free. I specialised in skin and worked with many children to resolve their skin issues.

Then a few years ago I left a relationship. This was another turning point in my life. A time when, again, I faced my fear and did what I knew I had to do. I am proud that during the relationship, during my leaving and whilst recovering I stayed eczema free. However, I did lose my confidence, belief in myself and had low self-esteem. Through my own personal work I have found ways to manage my fear, my stress, my negative fears and my self-doubt. I have explored my fears, discovered my self-confidence and grown through my own self-development.

I use traditional Counselling skills and I combine that with Kinesiology in order for clients to relieve anxiety and become more relaxed. Along with Counselling, Kinesiology is an amazing tool to remove blocks and change behaviours from negative to positive.

Personally, my breakthrough came when I realised that I was not living true to myself. I was unhappy, lacking in self-confidence and self-esteem. I came to a low point, a point where I felt I just could not live that way anymore. Emotionally I was devastated and my body started to show signs of this too. I put on weight and I felt lethargic most of the time. Everything in my body was shouting 'This doesn't feel good and I'm not happy'.

By, taking courage and stepping through my fear I found a place where I can truly express who I am and live a free, joyful and expansive life. I teach and pass on the insights and strategies I have learned in my experience so that you can use them too. I offer you support and gentle challenge to support you to come to a new place in your life, to have the courage to move forward and to live the life you want to live. To know who you are, what you want and how to be free.
