Edinburgh School of Music is a music school based in Edinburgh city centre. We are a team of enthusiastic and dedicated teachers with an artistic and hands-on approach who teach a wide range of instruments including voice, piano, violin, guitar, flute, recorder and drums.

We are looking for extra string & brass players and also 2 harp players. Extra bassoons welcome too. Rehearsals take place at the Edinburgh Society of Musicians (3 Belford Road, Edinburgh EH4 3BL) on Monday evenings at 7.30 pm. Try a rehearsal with us on Monday 3rd February 2020 (or the following Monday if you are not available this Monday) and be assured you will love it! What do you love most about your job?
Having had piano and violin lessons growing up, I understand the value and enjoyment learning a musical instrument can bring. One of the best things about my job is being able to watch students progress and grow both in their instrumental skills and in confidence. Seeing the joy it brings each student when they play a piece well in a performance or pass an exam makes it a very rewarding job!
What inspired you to start your own business?
After teaching for ESM for 4 years, I was offered the opportunity to take over the running of the music school at the beginning of 2018. Having been a teacher myself and seeing the enthusiasm of both the teachers and pupils at ESM it was an easy decision to make. Since taking over I'm very proud to celebrating all of our pupils achievements as well as watching the school grow.

We are a team of enthusiastic and dedicated tutors with a passion for music. All the tutors at ESM are highly experienced teachers who are able to tailor the lessons to each of their students needs - whether that be learning classical music, playing along to your favourite pop songs or playing with others in a band. We offer monthly showcases at Edinburgh Jazz Bar as well as termly concerts which gives our students plenty of chance to show off their skills.
