Great informative day out daughter loved all the interactive things to do especially likes the simulations
Really enjoyed it and great for kids too. Lots of interactive things for them. Simulators good, especially the one taking you to the rainforest!
Great day out. We'll worth a visit. Highly recommended
Great night here with work. Started with fizz a tour then a lovely meal and music. Fab venue
Very interesting, kids are entertained, adults are surprised.
Family had a great few hours here.
Had a great afternoon - brilliant interactive tour with great effects Learnt lots & my 11yo son loved it too. Great cafe which amazing views & obligatory gift shop. Parking was expensive though
Fun, educational & interactive. Entry a bit pricey but most attractions are.
Great stuff to look at, and movie dome is excellent, very informative for all ages 10/10
Was very interesting and interactive great value for money would recommend for any age group as even my husband and myself was very impressed and kept our 8 year old grandson glued to everything that was going on.

Bus drivers should get free entry
A great place for families to enjoy interactive activities and perhaps learn more about the creation and features of our planet
Very well laid out very original in its presentation. I throughly enjoyed my visit there and would definitely recommend it to everyone of all ages.
funny for kids. was wonderful.
Spændende for både store og små - fantastisk tidsrejse gennem jordens udvikling
Very interesting and nice little sections to keep kids interested. There were a huge amount of school groups though. But other than that I’d recommend it for kids.
Great day out especially in the rain today !!
great few hours spent at dynamic earth. soft play was really small but apart from that the rest was spot on

Love dynamic earth great for all ages young and old. And the cafe is fantastic value as well you don't even need to do the tour to use the cafe you can just go and enjoy lunch or a coffee and cake definitely recommend
We all really enjoyed it. Would definitely recommend
My daughters really enjoyed their recent trip to Dynamic Earth (particularly the time machine and iceberg) however one of them lost their purse there - the staff have went above and beyond to reunite them, which we have just received very promptly posted back (with money intact) Their customer care and service is fantastic and has been much appreciated!
good for money. particularly enjoyed the volcano and glacier exhibits. they were showing the history of the 1st moon landing in the dome and it was excellent. would recommend
Aa always this building is beautiful, just as always a thousands of people there. So hard to take a pics in front of the gate. If you would like to take a pic better to go early morning. This time little bit more quiet. More...

Amazing place , loved the Dome being in the helicopter with the 3D glasses awesome experience , well put together , the guides were knowledgeable , jumped when the floor moved with the earthquake , great day with my care for carers group thanks for organizing a super day out , the workshops were interesting loved every minute ☺️
We visited here in August and thanks to a very helpful guy called Graham my Son who has sensory issues had a great visit. He took the time to sit with him and talk him through a map of the venue explaining every room to him. This prepared him before going in and meant he could relax. More...
We had an amazing experience with a party of nearly 50 Spanish school children who thoroughly enjoyed the visit. The staff were very accommodating and made our experience well worth while. Many thanks!
What an amazing place we stumbled across. Brilliant for kids and adults alike, pushchair and wheelchair access throughout. The guides were absolutely fantastic, very helpful and knowledgeable. More...
As a disabled member of the public, it was laid out well & had a lift to all floors. The details of each area was very well equipped to enable all children to try,see hear, feel or talk. My grandchild as an autistic child was very interested in most of it which can be a challenge so well done planet earth. More...

Great interactive experience!! (and exclusive visit because I was lonely mostly of time :D) You must have nerves of steel for some 180° videos, but it's so immersive, you'll forget your pain. ^^ The show dome about super volcano was amazing. All the exibition shows you the evolution of the world and ends on humanity from an other point of view. Objectively. Without accusation. In the end, it reminds you how insignificant you are in the universe, how important every little things you do today is important for future. More...
fabulous day out with my grandson. staff were excellent. Please can you arrange for waste bins in the picnic area, many thanks.
Such an amazing experience for the little ones and for grown ups as well! Everything is perfectly set and keeps the children permanently engaged. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Must see! More...

Utterly brilliant interpretation of Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon 360.
Visited today with 2 kids age 7 & 9, throughly enjoyed by all, great family day out, would highly recommend
Great fun for all ages. Fun and learning all at the same time

Went to a conference here recently and was a great venue. Audio and visual equipment worked well and staff were amazingly attentive. Good service of food and drink. - Only annoyance was the spiral stairs. Going up and down to get to the different rooms. Maybe if there was a link between the two to use? This would have improved the day. I also hate noisy children, but this venue did well to keep those gross things away. More...
One of the best museums in the UK we have ever visited. Friendly and enthusiastic staff plus engrossing state of the art videos and displays made this a visit to remember. For children ( and adults ) aged 8 plus I cannot recommend this museum enough. More...

it is a good day out for the family we have been going for a few years but it dies need a few changes as nothings changed since weve been going all exactly the same
It's absolutely amazing the films and volcano erupt I got fright lol but well worth it thanks loved it it all
Third time I've visited this year and still taking in new facts I hadn't noticed previously! Wonderful to learn so much about our planet under one roof - and in such a fun way. So much has gone into the making of Dynamic Earth. Great value, especially if you have an annual pass. Super, friendly staff too, greeting and directing everyone along the route. Highly recommended. Had a gr8 day out with the the kids here. They offer a sensory map to make it more accessible for those with developmental difficulties, I was able to warn my son when loud parts were coming & any sudden movements etc & they allowed us to miss out the (elevator) time machine (& take the stairs as he was to anxious to go in). I was able to pre-empt the whole visit & keep him reassured. We even got the dome theatre to ourselves (by luck) as it wasn’t busy so they were able to leave the floor lighting on so it wasn’t as dark as it usually is. Amazing staff all so friendly & extremely helpful, made what could’ve been a stressful visit a very enjoyable experience. We will definitely be back. More...
love it. Kids love it too!
Great day out lots to see and interact with

Stunning show for pink Floyd dark side of the moon, epic experience. Would highly recommend.

Really great exhibits with awesome effects
Fantastic place, I've been before and I'd keep going back. Great attractions for kids and adults of all ages. A place scotland can be proud of. Well done.
This place is absolutely incredible!! I arrived at 10am just as the place opened. The student ticket was only £12 online - what amazing value for 2 hours of informative fun! It’s supposed to be self guided, but you do get your guides along the way who clarify any questions. The attraction is split into several sections which is very smart for crowd control. Dynamic Earth really uses technology to enhance visitors’ experiences. The floors shake to mimic a volcano explosion, you experience a 4D cinema experience talking about life from the Big Bang up until now, as well as the chance to view several other exhibitions like rainforest, artic, sea life, dinosaurs etc. This is the highlight of my experience in Edinburgh. I’ve learnt so much in the last two hours and it’s more informative and entertaining than studying 1 year of geography GCSE in school! More...
Really enjoyable few hours spent with young Kaden our 12 yr old visitor from Australia.
Fantastic experience and soo much to see, explore and learn. A really great interactive experience and a lot of the information was beneficial to my sister for her geography work as well which was helpful !. Well worth a visit one of the most amazing attractions I have ever visited ! More...

Great trip today with my wee P4s we loved our experience.. out of this world Thank you
I absolutely loved dynamic earth. Although we only found it by fluke by spotting it in Google maps. We had an excellent visit. Well worth a Visit. One tiny thing you could look to change is to reduce the use of single use plasic, you should lead by example recycling is excellent but a lot of establishments like yourselves and the zoo use plasic staws, plastic cups etc etc. However your not the only attraction that needs to reduce this. I would still love to come back! Its fab! More...
Fantastic place for all ages "small forms of life" :) Had great day and I still alive after volcano eruption :) Staff very nice and helpful. Thank you!
Hubby and I had a brilliant day here this week, the staff are just fantastic and the whole experience was awesome!
Had a great day here with my family today, my son really enjoys Dynamic Earth and loved the new Volcano show in the show dome. However I would like to say a great big thank you to Craig and Brendan who took the Wonderful Weather event as part of the Science Festival today. We had such a great afternoon and they were so good with my almost 5 year old son, he had the best time and they made learning so fun keeping the attention and enthusiasm going for him and all the kids who took part for over 2 hours. Thank you guys, great job and would thoroughly recommend this event. More...
Staff are fantastic & very knowledgeable, we had a great family day out.

Very amusing and enjoyable as has a lot of interesting films with special effects. The museum part is very short.
My grandson had his fourth birthday party here and the children had a brilliant time.
It was interesting and eductional, good for all ages, loved the 3d effects, the snow should fall on everyone, make it feel you are actually there,we are not adverse to getting a little wet etc,as long as you are fore-warned,probably let down by the canteen and as u know nicola sturgeon telling everyone not to use plastic straws and switch to paper straws and yet you who are right next door still use "plastic" straws, not good for the enviroment!!!
Fantastic Party for my 2 kids today. Special thankyou to host Rebecca who was wonderful all the kids and adults had a fantastic time. My first time is show dome and I loved it. Interesting information. Lovely and interactive. Well worth another visit soon! More...
Fantastic day for the kids. They really loved the Time Machine, and the Volcanoes. The free coat room lockers (£1 deposit) makes such a difference in winter.
We visited in Feb 2018 and went on the time travel experience, learning so much about geology, how the universe was formed, & life on planet Earth in different biomes. It was all so excellently done, really interactive and fun and the staff welcoming us throughout our time travel experience were brilliant. They really made it a fantastic experience for our 3 and 5.5 year old. More...
I went here a number of years ago and it was good to come back. I went as a grandparent this time. Very enjoyable. However, I gave 4* because of the man who served the ticket. I stood at the counter waiting to be served and he completely ignored me. I asked if I get the ticket here and the woman next to him asked if it was cash or card, I said card and she directed me to the man and asked him to serve me. He rudely ignored her and me until he was ready to serve me, no apology and he lacked any form of customer care. Please put him behind the scenes or send on a customer care course or you may be losing visitors, as my husband was ready to walk out . More...
Dark side off moon is a must was brillant will defo be going back for more staff were great to here is to next one
Loved it but, think it could be more organised instead of a free for all to grab a seat. Some people had obviously been there before and knew that by sitting at the back of the auditorium, they would see more. Still a good show
The Dark Side of the Moon show was fantastic. Definitely worth seeing.
Dark Side of the Moon is absolutely amazing. Cascading clocks and jigging cash machines fitted the music perfectly. Volume of music was perfect. It brought back memories of the seventies. More please! More...
Went for the dark side of the moon showing... Just amazing! With the hectic pace of life these days It's hard to remember how long it's been since I last took the time to listen to an album start to finish uninterrupted and as my only focus. Thanks for reminding me how glorious that experience can be. More...
My daughter had a birthday party it was really amazing time for all of them . I really recommended that place
More...
Dynamic Earth is totally brilliant and a star shining brightly in Edinburgh!
Excellent venue for corporate events as well.Who knew at the Dynamic Earth?
Fun place to go with the kids, have been many times and will definitely go back.
Attended on the 19th November, all staff were friendly and helpful and kids loved it
Brilliant my wee girl loved it. Would deffo go back
Kids had a great day, there was loads to do to keep them busy and it was good it was free as it can be expensive for a family for the day. We all had lunch in the coffee shop aswel which was quite resonable. Great day out. The staff were all really nice and looked if they were enjoying themselves as well which made day, well done to all the staff. More...

Love this place! Come here all the time. We are season pass holders. Highly recommend.
Very informative, lots of interesting things to see. Staff were great, polite and friendly. Not far from the train station. Price was good for what you get.
Educational fun for the kids. Could be a bit more Scottish in flavour though considering it's right in the middle of the Scottish capital. Good fun for the family
Fantastic place to visit with kids. So much to learn.
Super family day out, kids (age 4&6) loved the 'shaking' volcano, adults loved the flight over glaciers & we all loved the Rhinos smelly breath!!.
First time I've visited and have to say it was a tremendous day! Very friendly & helpful staff
Visited Dynamic Earth yesterday after a friend telling me how much she loved & we weren’t disappointed. We absolutely loved, I particularly love the We are Astronomers show. Would definitely go back & would definitely recommend Dynamic Earth to my friends More...

Excellent wee afternoon had by our tribe , kids and adults alike both loved it very informative will be bk
Had a good day out and enjoyed the your. My 5 year old had a great day and loved the experiences. It was good that the tour was split into sections with different guides at each one. The only thing preventing 5 stars is the price. For a few hours it feels very expensive! Whilst we’d like to go back, unless the price is reduced I can’t see that happening. More...

Absolutely fabulous visit here. Didn't know what to expect when we came here but safe to say we loved it & had a fantastic visit.
Fantastic for kids and adults alike. Well set up for busy periods to ensure minimum waiting. Staff brilliant.
Travelled from Glasgow to Dynamic Earth and it was well worth the trip. It's a bit expensive so you really need a few hours there to take full advantage of everything. Kids loved it , both 10 ... and lots to interact with. Educational, fun and very friendly staff. Well worth a visit. More...
Today we took our son who will be three the end of november. I thought it would be your typical museum walk about as you please but it wasnt I was surprised how structured it was from the beginning taking you through all different stages of the world. My son loves volcanoes and dinosaurs so the earthquake and lava was so enjoyable. The movie at the end was just amazing and i would definitely say our family would visit again. More...
My son had been with school a few times, so it took us adults a long time to get round to visiting! We thoroughly enjoyed our tour, educational and a feast for the senses. I love the place I was there yesterday it's fun
Awesome place, best museum I've ever been to!
I tried to post this review on Tripadvisor but was told it didn't meet their review guidelines "A review must relate directly to the business to which it is submitted." Very confused as I was reviewing an event at Dynamic Earth, by Dynamic Earth Dark Side of the Moon - beyond words! We chose to come here for the Pink Floyd/Dark Side of the Moon immersive experience because a similar event at the Glasgow Science Centre had an age limit of 18. Our 14yo daughter is a huge fan of Pink Floyd, as is my husband. I was more of a 'if you can't beat em, join em' type of fan. Recent experiences such as this and Dave Gilmour's Live at Pompeii at the cinema have changed my mind. The immersive show in the Dome was outstanding, breathtaking, emotional and amazing. We've visited Dynamic Earth as a family before but this added a different element to this venue and we would love to come back to Dynamic Earth for an evening show, we will keep an eye on the website/social media for ideas. Thank you More...
Dark side of the moon experience was tremendous I would highly recommend a trip to Dynamic Earth.
Went to the Dark side of the moon and back.....it was fantastic we were a party of 6 and we all had a fabulous time with helpful staff and an out of this world evening.
What a great show. I'd go back to see something again
Lived in Edinburgh all these years and this was the first time I've been here. It won't be the last. I watched Dark Side of the Moon in the Dome and it was 5 star. Wonderful.
É um lugar maravilhoso, amei visitar! É como viajar no tempo em vários lugares e épocas! Recomendo muito!!
Fantastic experience, really gives you an insight on how our earth was made. Great learning experience for children & adults....thought provoking. Worth a visit! More...
Absolutly amazing! I went here today: great layout, fun interactive displays, great learning content! What's not to like?
Took my Grandchildren (aged 6 and 9) last month - what a fantastic place we all had a great day - something for all the family to do. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly an experience not to be missed - would highly recommend Dynamic Earth for all.... More...
Very educational. Travel back in time and experience the Big Bang and the creation of planet earth.
Dark side of the moon at very enjoyable looking forward to other music events
Dynamic earth is definately worth at least one visit, wont be as exciting a second or third time as you will know what to expect but my first time was enjoyable and fun. My niece enjoyed it to although a little apprehensive of the time machine taking her to another world in another time, only to discover she was still in the same place. It was fascinating and we loved the rainforest and the iceberg and travelling in space. However with the earthquake experiance my mum nearly dropped the baby as there wasnt much of a warning and the imformative film was a bit long for young children who get very restless. The soft play isnt up to much and the cafe was disappointing as they only serve hot food up until 3pm and after that there is not much to choose from apart from sweets and cakes, so I struggled to find something decent for my neice to eat. But all in all very glad we experianced it if only once. More...
We went to Our Dynamic Earth on the 28th of December last, 2 adults and 2 boys aged 4. I think we all had a blast with the whole experience. Unfortunately we had to rush parts of it because we had plans to see other things around Edinburgh but we still spent a good two hours in the venue. I must say this interactive exhibition is great, perhaps more suited for 5yr+. Having said this though, our guys had a fantastic time, I've never seen them so quiet in the dome screening, they were mesmerized. The only reason why I drop a star is that I feel this experience is slightly overpriced (like most tourist attractions in Edinburgh if I'm fair). If you have to people it becomes very expensive very quickly. Personally I think places like these, that offer educational experiences to children should be subsidized by the governments to some extent and offer free or very low price admission to their target age range. It is bad enough that the accompanying adult has to pay full price, for everyone to have to pay is a heavy burden. I would return here but probably not as often as I would if the prices were lower or the free admission age was extended. More...
Our Dynamic Earth is spectacular. And I mean that in the literal sense that it is a spectacle, rather 'really, really good'. If you're under 10, both of those are probably true, but older visitors will probably feel in places that it's a little bit of a wasted opportunity.Good things first: it's obviously been tremendously well resourced. Divided into discrete rooms, every space in Our Dynamic Earth is a lavishly produced multi-media extravaganza, from the moment you step into wobbly-floor 'time machine' to the moment you leave. It also doesn't seem to suffer from Millennium Dome Syndrome (too much cash + too many cooks + lack of clear vision) - the whole thing is totally consistent and very creatively executed. My 5yo spent the entire visit with his mouth open, full of questions and really enjoying the interactive elements. But here, I suppose, is my one reservation - although I wouldn't say it was *shallow*, the actual content sometimes doesn't justify the presentation. In several rooms (the 3D theatre for example, or the section about water erosion) the science is shunted off to the side like an embarrassing necessity. For each room like this though, there are another four where information and presentation gel perfectly, and my son really learned a lot from the experience. We've been back again since and I'd thoroughly recommend it. More...
Surprisingly good! We went on a free day, so it was swarmed with some of the world's worst-behaved children, but we still enjoyed it. It's quite involved and managed. You are taken from room to room to explore displays and view films that explain things to you. Finally, you get to explore some galleries on your own and you get to see a planetarium type of film in the dome. While all of this is very good and educational, - cool special effects including smells, temperature changes, earthquake simulations - it's also kind of dark and not terribly stroller friendly when it's crowded. The lifts are small and only hold two prams at once, so if that's a factor, come on a quieter day, midweek or opt for a child carrier. Good soft play downstairs and nice cafe. Worth a visit but best for kids over 4. More...
Having just arrived back from trip to Iceland, I was having complete withdrawal from chat about volcanoes and glaciers! So with an extra day off, and no plans, I decided to be an 'at home' tourist for the afternoon and pay Dynamic Earth a visit. It's been a really long time since I was last here, but as I gleefully skipped towards the foot of Arthur's Seat I was very much looking forward to this next visit! It cost £11.50 to get in (£7.50 for kids) and I thought this was pretty reasonable (although given I'd just paid £150 to have personal tour of a volcano, glaciers & geysirs...this was remarkably cheap!). The staff were chirpy, friendly and looked after me well!Dynamic Earth is very well structured, starting with a trip 'back in time' to the Big Bang, and working it's way through the formation of Earth, Ice Age, tropical rain forests and dinosaurs, to modern times and space travel! It's extremely visual, packed with loads of interactive features and has lots of things to play with! Now, I've always wanted to be a like a kid alone in a toy store, and the fact I'd went into Dynamic Earth quite late in the afternoon meant I got the chance to do just that! I had the ENTIRE place to myself...and I made very good use of it! No crowds, no screaming children and the tour guides all to myself! Well...I pushed buttons, touched things I maybe shouldn't have, jumped up and down and generated a fake earthquake, cuddled a glacier (made of actual ice, I wasn't tempted to lick it though!), prodded a fake lava flow, got an entire 3D cinema to myself ("just pick a seat" requested the bemused tour guide, who still had to go through his scripted speech even though it was just me!), got to spend AGES at each exhibit, rather than having to move on because it's busy and other people want to play with things, and generally just had a ball! The tour concludes with a film in the domed cinema (which is sort of like a planetarium. You get to laze back on comfy reclining chairs and watch the film overhead!). It was a new film called 'Are We Alone?' and focused on the search for life in space. It was a lovely animated film, topical (there was a nice explanation of how they landed the Curiosity Rover on Mars), and was narrated by Ron Weasley from Harry Potter! When the film was done, the tour was over and we were guided into the gift shop. It was a great shop, although I resisted the urge to buy a Dynamic Earth pencil and eraser! All in all, I had an absolute blast in Dynamic Earth and it was a great way to use an afternoon off! Although it may not be as interesting for younger kids, there was a really fun looking soft-play area. I resisted going in to play though...I'll save that for my next visit! More...

not that expensive depending on what you want to buy. loved the idea of being able to take away a little piece of memorabilia of dynamic earth. a great way to end an amazing day
This place must of had an upgrade since the time before last I went there. Now you go in a room to watch a film wearing 3d glasses and more. The best yet. I walked out of the gift shop stating to the security guard I enjoyed it so much they should expect me back anytime soon. More...
Haters gonna hate. Personally, I thoroughly enjoyed Dynamic E!Visited a few days ago (in January), so had the place pretty much to ourselves. In our visit there we travelled back in time, stood in a volcano, strolled through the Ice Age (it was a walk in the park), stuck our tongue out at a big ole (plastic) lizard in the rainforest, watched a 4D movie and moved one step closer to the stars. It's cheesy but good, suitable for kids of all ages, well paced, entertaining enough for wee yins but with enough info posted around to keep from patronising the oldies. I've got to say though, the experience was heightened by the awesome, friendly bunch of staff. Their information tripped off the tongue, they were approachable and engaging. They weren't too full on as you sometimes get in these places. I got the impression their opinion really mattered, so rather than seem like they're complying to a glossy gimmick their personalities shone through when delivering shows. Their chat was definitely spontaneous, so we learned more as a result. And I do love to learn!Aside from the staff, my highlight was David Tennant's narration of the cataclysmic tale of the universe. The movie was touching and inspiring, not to mention easy to understand. I didn't make it past the gift shop alive - they've got GEMSTONES. I ended up buying myself a bloody cuddly parrot as well. How old am I? Never too old for Dynamic Earth! Gies a job!! More...
As a sucker to all things in connection to the Beautiful Sciences of Earth and Space, I must admit Dynamic Earth is a dream land for me.I cannot fault this place at all. It is filled with knowledge for both kids and adults alike. You are taken on a journey from the Big Bang to the shaping of the Earth and at no point during this journey are you at all bored, unless this stuff doesn't interest you at all, in which case why did you go?I feel this place just gets everything right. Instead of having you wander around aimlessly to begin with your left to watch a series of documentary like movies based on some of the main events which have shaped our world. These movies, narrated by John Hannah(the mummy) are the perfect introduction into the Dynamic Earth scene and do fantastically well to keep the guest interested. Then to end the day with a Bang we finish off with the beautifully done 'We Are Astronomers', an inspiring short film telling the story of the incredible progression of Astronomy today and how we are all joining together to delve deep into unraveling the answers to some of life's biggest questions about the Universe and the beginning of, well everything really.Well thats the exhibits done, now lets focus on the other little things that make a big difference. The staff were amazing. I didn't feel they felt forced to give 5 star service, I felt they just genuinely wanted to. The gift shop had all you could expect, magnets, mugs, postcards, books, cuddly toys, selection of sweets, stationary, and all those little silly science type toys kids would love to waste there money on. I spent £30, I was happy with that.In the cafe they had a great choice of food and I enjoyed my chosen meal. The staff were not overworked and everything flowed very well.Would I go back again I ALREADY DID!!!!!! More...
Poor old Dynamic Earth, I really can't understand why there are so many bad reviews about it! The first time I visited this place was on a Primary 7 class trip when it first opened. That was a while back now but I absolutely loved it, especially the earthquake, the huge ice berg and the rainforest. After all this time, it's still been a place that's always stood out in my memory and it was definitely one of my favourite trips ever. I was a little shocked then, to find so many low star reviews about it when I looked it up on Yelp. Perhaps it had changed since the last time I was there? So I decided to give it another visit to see what's gone awry. After my second visit to Our Dynamic Earth a few weeks ago, I'm still confused as to why it has so many bad reviews. It's still awesome! Okay, it was better when I was younger but it is designed for children so you can't really fault it just because you've grown up and have lost most of your imagination and childhood spirit. Rather than just strolling around at your own pace, it's designed as a tour where you are transported back to the beginning of time. You are then taken all over the world to experience all the different climates, the ice-berg is still my favourite. You even get to go on a plane, well, a 3D cinema with a flight film. In fact, I think it might be 4D as there's even snow, wind and heat too.Very cool.Definitely one for the kids, but if you still have any imagination at all then this place is great and even if you're too grown up for the tour, the planetarium at the end is beautiful so there's something for everyone to enjoy. I came here recently for a conference. I always knew Dynamic Earth was used as a venue but never got to experience it. And it makes for a stunning corporate venue. There are many rooms to make use of, for workshops and presentations. They have a great system for lunch, there was about 200 people at the event yet there were no queues and the layout was brilliant. The food was really good too - I was expecting something totally drab and unexciting. As it was a sunny day, we got to use the outdoor patios for our coffee, it was lovely!I was told that you can get married here too. I would turn my nose up at that prospect, but now that I've seen what else it has to offer, I would consider it. More...
I dont know what people have against this place!Dynamic Earth is childishly fun but in a good way, educational and fasinating. From the moment I stepped in that 'Time Machine', I was enjoying myself. Our Dynamic Earth follows the earths history from its creation (where you observe the big bang in a space ship, hence the time machine) through the volcanic periods, the ice ages and the creation of the earth as we know it today. Yes, the acting is a bit hammy, and the anamatronics are a little dated - but the fun is there, and it really is interesting too. As for the 'ice cube' - it is actually more like and ice burg, kept in a room at a constant temperature just below freezing. There was also an unbelievable 360 degree, 3D tour of the universe called 'We Can All Be Astronomers' with David Tennant doing the voice over which was mind blowing and more than a bit trippy.Yes, this place may be expensive, but who says you need to eat at the cafe? You're slap bang in the middle of a city - go out and do something else! For me, and many ithers - this was a great day out. More...

we have been twice and loved it on both visits - good for children and adults, informative without being preachy. We loved the bit at the end where you get to sit in comfy chairs and vote for solutions to ecological problems projected onto the ceiling. Great fun with a reasonably priced cafe (for once) with decent food and a great gift shop. We would visit again I think it's worth the entry fee. More...

I visited Dynamic earth as a college trip. I was pretty impressed. There was lots to do and see and you wander around. very educational but in a fun way. I liked the huge block of ice that represented an ice berg and the area where you lie on the floor under a huge starry dome and watch film clips on global warming. Alhtough aimed at kids it is interesting for adults too. worth a visit. More...
I liked dynamic earth a lot, it is probably directed more for kids and not THAT iteractive but it informs you about how the earth was created and various systems on the earth such as glacial system etc. Good for a day out but you couldn't go very often. Think its about £8 per adult to get in so not too bad seeing as it is in the centre of Edinburgh. You can park at Leith (by Royal Yacht Britannia) for free and get the bus in for about £1. It is about a 10min bus ride from Princes Street Gardens, so worth getting the bus to save weary legs!! More...

Visiting Dynamic Earth is quite literally like stepping in to a time machine. Each section of the museum is a fascinating hands-on journey through time, revealing the complexities and diversity that is our planet. The immensity of the Big Bang is brought closer to home with shaking floors and lifelike volcanic eruptions, while the polar extremes are brought to our doorstep with a real iceberg. A portion of a tropical rainforest is created with accurate proportions and is brought to life with convincing models of mammals that blink and move when the rain falls on the trees and plants. All of this activity and movement is laced with informative voice-overs that invite you to explore and journey with them through the ages. Given that there is so much to see, do and experience, walking through the whole of Dynamic Earth can easily take up to three or four hours as this is something that you certainly do not want to rush. The super-friendly and enthusiastic staff are always on hand to answer any questions. More...

I loved this museum when I visited, when you are younger the thought of a museum normally means something boring but this is quite the opposite. Within the museum there are lots of activitiues to take part in such as the volcanic eruption where you stand on a platform and see what it would be like in an erruption, the ice room, the tropical rainforest and lots more. It is quite well priced at just the same as most other museums and it has much more to offer! More...

I was quite young when this museum opened, and I just loved it. I would still love to go back there now, such was the ambition and flair of the place that there would be few people, regardless of age, that it would fail to impress. I can remember more details of this place than any other museum; the tiny dinosaur coming out of an egg, the huge jungle room and the real iceberg, smoothed by people's instinctive gesture to touch. At least this is a museum that encourages the hands-on approach, and every room is an experience rather than a display cabinet of boredom like so many traditional museums can be. There are themes within the museum: desert, jungle; arctic etc, and each one is done to perfection in a unique way that inspires the interest of the unruliest kids. Located next to Arthur's Seat, the museum is under a huge dome and when the entrance looks as good as that, you know you're in for a treat. More...

Our Dynamic Earth is a modern museum. It tells the story of how the earth came to what it is. It has loads for kids and adults. There is loads to see and do and the prices are reasonable. I would suggest that it would fill about half a day! More...
